HMFC Illustration in the works

Recommended Posts

Just putting some feelers out on here to see how well this would go down.

A couple of years ago I was commissioned to produce an illustration in this style...

http://www.gregorlouden.com/illustration.html#4

My idea is to do something similar but with the letters H M F C.

It would be a lot larger than the Glasgow one I've shown here and with a lot more detail.

Once complete, I would then be selling prints of it with all proceeds going towards the famous.

The idea is to make up the letters with all different sorts of objects that make up Heart of Midlothian(that includes eight Scottish Cups and the numbers 5 and 1 of course).

Anyone else on here could suggest what to include also and I'll endevour to include the suggestions.

So, do you think this is a go-er?

Hello again. After your overwhelming response to my idea( :cornette: ) I found myself encouraged to go ahead and start the illustration.

To be honest, whether it takes off or not or I don't make a single sale, i'm going to do this anyway as i'm finding it theraputic in dealing with al this admin turmoil.

This is what i have so far...

Again the idea is to make up the letters H M F C out of objects and images connected with the mighty Jambo's. :2thumbsup:

Let the encouragement or pelters begin. :smash:

After looking at the link, I think the final coloured print will look awesome.

Very interested to see how this works out. All the best with the project.

Why not hearts ?

Good point actually. It's only one more letter.

BTW, if anybody can suggest any images they'd like to see included then please feel free to post.

What size would these be?

Looks cool as feck

Still to decide this. I'm scanning the illustrations in at a pretty high resolution so the final version could be blown up pretty large.

Whatever everybody thinks would be the best size I'd be happy to go with. Maybe A1?

Will look great.

Ideas - the Adam arms aloft 98 goal celebration. The tunnel and hearts crest above. Wayne foster on the ER fence. THE Heart of Midlothian (ie in cobbles on royal mile). The 06 team standing shoulder to shoulder at the penalty shoot out (or just after that miss when they start the celebrations). Scraping the barrel now but...Hearty Harry, lol!

Will think of more...

Wee Robbo will feature for certain.

27 will be in there.

Also I'd love this to be as much about the Hearts community as it is about the club itself.

So, if anybody has any Hearts related photographs of themselves or family then post them here and I'll make sure to include them.

It could be anything, your great grandad with a hearts scarf on, your dog with a hearts scarf even. Anything that tells a personal story.

What about incorporating some of the European trips - maybe some of the more famous ones - Munich, Bordeaux etc etc.

Craig Gordon for the fact he is the biggest transfer fee received

It doing HEARTS then the flat horizontal at the top of the 'T' could be full goals with Gordon diving across and finger tipping a save away.

Also what about a few classic strip designs (like the wee shirts featured in the glasgow one)

Good idea about the "T". Maybe five different goals scattered throughout the illustration, each one occupied by either Gordon, Roussett, Smith, Niemi or Cruikshank?

Classic strip designs definitely!

As tempting as that is, this is a Hearts illustration and I'm not sure we should be letting that scaffy wee git anywhere near it. Still, could be funny.

The old Heart of Midlothian,Tynecastle Park sign that was at the Gorgie Road end? (edit :which I see you have... :) )

Or for a tall image,Ryan McGowan's jumpy skippy cup final celebrations?

Twirly scarves? Scarf around a funnel?

Like that alot. Set an old ocean liner in with scarves around the funnels.

Add some variety to the illustrations.

Its all too easy to mention players and distinctive goals but its key for this to look varied and interesting.

The Scotts Monument would be another good one imo. Obviously in the capital but also the author of the book with which we share our famous name.

Forza Cuore

Brilliant idea and looks great so far.

An idea would be the 2 laddies from the front cover of the 5-1 book pointing at their Strips? ;-)

The People's Chimp

Great idea. More than enough suggestions in there I imagine. De Vries would be another, and you could maybe put in the old Tynecastle sign, as featured in the painting of the gorgie rd end.

Also, if any supporters groups want me to add in any of their flags, then just post a pic on here.
