Someone mentioned in another thread about Rangers wearing a Hummel strip last night that had no advertising on the shirt. Could be a UEFA "anti gambling" advertising ban thing but I am currently none the wiser.

The strip is not one of the 3 that Hummel adverts have for Rangers for 2018/19. Could be something or could be nothing.

Basically looking for some info if anyone has any.

It was a ban on gambling adverts in Croatia (Not a UEFA thing) that meant they had to use their training tops for the game.  Of course they are now claiming it to be their 4th strip.

They mustn't have a set of tops without the 32 red logo, which may or may not be down to the Ashley / Hummel dispute.

Do they not have to register strip designs with the SPFL/SFA and UEFA ? Or is that another rule they're excluded from ?

Surely 32Red won't be happy with it either?

See above the advertising ban in Croatia. However, surely all they had to do was tape over the logo ?

Clubs a fecking car crash on almost every level. How they are managing to remain competitive and attract players and sponsors is beyond me. I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole if I was in any business that was concerned with football.

According to the daily ranger.

"Rangers are set for a surprise strip selection ahead of their clash with Osijek.

Steven Gerrard 's side are in Croatia as they look to gain a first leg advantage in the Europa League second qualifying round tie.

The Ibrox faithful were wowed as three designs were unveiled by new kit producer Hummel earlier this month - but none of those will be used at the Stadion Gradski vrt tonight.

Instead, as per the club's official Instagram story, Rangers look to be donning a red kit which was used in a closed-door friendly against TNS.

Gerrard's men have also used the red top in training throughout pre-season.

The strip does not feature a sponsor on the front, with Rangers usually backed by online casino company 32Red."

Sorry for having to post a link to this rag, but I have to. (Doesn't mean anybody else has to click on it, as the above is the full story)

https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rangers-set-surprise-strip-selection-12986581

Story doesn't give any reasons why they are using a training kit.

Thank you and others who have helped on this.

Somoene has mentioned SFA/SFL and UEFA strip registration possibly being an issue. Worth the Croations looking into this for a possible easy route into the next round. That would be fun? and possibly time to get popcorn in.

From next week’s court listings.

COURT 25
Before MR JUSTICE PHILLIPS
Monday 30 July 2018 At 10:30 AM (All Day)

CL-2018-000442 SDI Retail Services Limited v. The Rangers Football Club Limited

This is the “matching rights” case.

The judge said Rangers had accepted claims made by SDI bosses.

The judge was told that more than £500,000 had been spent on lawyers, with SDI running up legal costs of £350,000 and Rangers £185,000.Mr Justice Phillips said Rangers' bosses should pick up the vast majority of SDI's legal bills as well paying their own fees, adding SDI was "entitled to the costs''.

"ouch!"

Rangers' directors disputed the claim and asked a judge to call a halt to the litigation.

Judge Richard Millett made a ruling in Mr Ashley's favour and decided the litigation could continue.

Looks like they are parting ways with Cardoso as well. I wonder if they'll have to pay up some of his remaining two year contract?

At the end of the day; apart from it getting dark..... they will still have a contract with Sports Direct .....the bears will be livid that a portion of strip sales etc is going to Big Mike!

So does that means strips can go on sale or does MA just have his lawyers waste weeks and months reviewing the like for like contract and then say they aren't interested?

What about the contract with JJB or whoever it is that was meant to be selling them now?

So they had an agreement with JD Sports, but they’re now having to deal with SD.

I wonder if they’d actually signed a contract with JD before this blew up, and if  so, what the consequences of breach of contract would be here.

I have lost count in this thread and about Rangers. Apart from KIng and takeover panel which I know is ongoing are they involved in any other court cases or pending ones ? Would be excellent if they lost a few more and were hit with even more costs.

1 day left to repay the directors and other loans due for part re-payment in July 2018 as well.

I wonder if we'll get a statement confirming the extension of the payment date for the £12,900,000.00....

Sorry FF i meant part of todays out of court settlement with SD when it was originally up for the injunction im sure there was a letter from JD saying they needed a wuick resolution that Rangers lawyers tried to use for a quick find in their favour. The Rangers fans are saying boycott SD we will but from the megastore. However Id assume that will be run by SD same as the online megastore is

How to lose a couple of million pounds in a day.

£350,000 for SD's legal costs

£185,000 for TRFC's legal costs

£750,000 for Cardoso's mutual termination agreement

£850,000 amortisation of the balance of Cardoso's contract.

Normally when a player leaves mid contract you receive a transfer fee for him which will offset the amortisation (write down of his intangible asset value), but seems unlikely in this case.

Sevco fans too dumb to relasise the £3M payout isn't "secret" but was disclosed in the accounts as a settlement to Ashley for the first time King tried (and failed) to screw him over.

And why are lawyers mentioning fans anger that the club only gets 7p in the £ ? WTF has this got to do with Sevco breaching a contract settlement they only reached last year.

So King's BIG VICTORY over Ashley was to eventually have stumped up at least 3.5 Million quid in legal fees and settlements to still not recover the retail rights.

What an absolute genius, sevco are in great hands.
