Buffalo Bill
"Right you lot, Edinburgh here, just to say keep it bloody clean and no trolling or I'll send my son Edward round to smack some heads" This is a thread for all the build up and on-the-day comment of the Beeb's/ITV's/media's coverage, and of course for the wedding itself. I think I'll watch it on STV as BBC1 have the awful Fearne Cotton and Edith Bowman (plus other people who use Twitter) as presenters. Stiff upper lip eh? Auld Reekin'
Spent the whole of Chaz & Di's big day getting drunk (in celebration of a day's holiday, nothing else...) in the Corstorphine Inn. Unfortunately, this course of action is not available to me this time around, but one thing's for sure: I won't be watching any of it on the telly! (Of course, the wall-to-wall coverage of it on all news bulletins and news channels, will undoubtedly mean that I'll end up seeing quite a lot of it unless I don't switch-on the TV at all that day and for a week or two afterwards... )

Sooperstar
People who care either in a positive or negative way about the Royal Family are a bit weird. I think they're pointless, but they don't bother me. If people want to get all excited about two people that they don't know getting married then let them. I'll take the holiday with great pleasure and use it to get away for the weekend. The only negative effect this wedding has had on me us the fact it's all over the tv. Luckily I control the remote, so that problem is easily rectified.
rossthejambo
Can't wait. Another day off work...that's all that bothers me tbh. I'm going to watch the coverage, but as much to poke fun at the people lining the streets and being interviewed on TV. Yet at the same time, I recognise that I am part of the event too, by means of being part of the TV audience, and thus in the same boat as some flag-waving looney who has spent three days camping outside Westminster. Furthermore, I know I'm going to be in for some stick on here for starting this thread in the first place - but someone had to. I admit, I'm looking forward to watchng it. redm
It's an event of global interest and on the basis that my nose tends to bother me if I don't know what's happening and I hate not being in-the-loop, I'll be watching on Friday morning along with zillions of other nosey buggers who couldn't give two hoots about Royal stuff but don't want to be the only one who didn't see it. And if I'm being perfectly honest, I also kind of want to see what the dress looks like. Oh the shame. It'll be a spectacle, therefore I shall spectate. No doubt some kind of baseball/cowboy hat. She really wants to be a bloke. And as for Edith Bowman doing it. How long until she asks gets caught up in the moment and thinks shes at TITP. Chugging over how its the best crowd in the world. Asking the Royals if they've performed in front of a better crowd and milking her scottish accent. What the heck are they going to film after the wedding?? I would imagine they will be filling in with quotes from "royal watchers" telling us exactly what's happening at the palace as if they're I.T.K. Also I expect they'll have reporters mingling with the roasters that have been camping out for days to get a 5 second glimpse of the "happy couple" If that's not enough to pad out their coverage then I'm sure they'll drop in on a "typical" street party. All of which should reach about 2000 on the scale
