Had a tenner on Garde Chapetre, bringing me ?50 quid.

Unfortunately stuck it all on Ashkazar to win the next.

Overall quite a tidy amount up.

The only horse outside the top 2 in all races today was that donkey in the 4pm, the one I just couldn't pick a horse, so backed some paddy at 14-1.

up about ?120 today.

I love Cheltenham.

What are your thoughts for tomorrow?

I have had a look, but am generally favouring one of the top 3 odds wise, and don't want always back favourites!

Am tempted by Pablo Du Charmil in the Coral Cup at 16s

Thought is was a good day of racing

A great gutsy performance from Little Katchit. More impressive was Tidal Bay who it was said couldn't jump.

He sure showed them.

Bring on tomorrow.

Here's my bets for tomorrow, had a good day today, please dont take my horses as tips though, as I'm very much a novice when it comes horse racing.

But here we go:

2.00 Trafford Lad - 8-1 To win. Tough race to predict though.

2.35 Albertas Run - 9-2 To win. Fancy this big time.

3.15 Tamarinbleu - 7-2, To win, though also fancy twist magic.

4.00 Song of Songs - 9-1 E/W. Fancy McCoy on this one. This will be my big outlay for tomorrow. Haven't placed bets on the 4.00 yet, will wait to see how the other 3 races go before deciding how much to put on the 4pm, will be at least ?20 E/W.

Alberta's Run, Twist Magic, Song of Songs and Zarito are my 4 fancies, but they are all close to being favourites, which is why I was tempted by Charmil

Dont know how everyone back in the old country did today, but I work in Ladbrokes in Brighton and it seemed to be a good day for everyone but us. Katchit was my only winner today but got a few tips for the rest of the week.

Today's racing has been abandoned due to high winds.

Today's racing will be spread over the next two days which means that Gold Cup Day will probably be a 9 race card.

They could do quite easily, all they have to do is reduce the times between the races to 30 minutes, first race 1.50, last race 5.50.

9 tomorrow, 10 on friday.

Oh great. Just imagine how much money I can lose during a 10 race card

That's my thinking to!

A few bets a day is ok, but I don't know if I can justify rolling those over to the next day, and doing several bets in one day

I strongly fancy Albertas run, did anyone see the way it hacked up last time?

Also I fancy Tamarinbleu (sp?) in the Queen Mother chase, should get around 4/1 for both nags.

I can't decide between Tamarinbleu and Twist Magic so gonna leav that one

Was a bit wary of Zaarito as I thought the track might be a bit heavy, but supposed to be good to soft which should be ok for him

What are your thoughts on the Ladbrokes hurdle? Is Inglis Drever as clear cut as the odds suggest? I though Wichita Lineman, but am also drawn to My Way De Solzen with Thornton on board. Both very good odds

Ingles Drever is a bit of a course specialist mate, horses for courses as they say! Thats why Katchit won the Triumph Hurdle I reckon. Ingles Drever was well beaten along with Katchit by Sizing Europe in Ireland last time out, and that form along with the short price would tend to put me off.

My each way fancy for that race is Wichita Lineman, it absolutely loves it around Cheltenham and is never far away there.

That was my thinking too. Wichita Lineman ain't in great form, but at 12/1 is surely worth a dabble

I am also now drawn to My Way De Solzen. He has struggled since racing Kauto, but that ain't a surprise. He also has decent course form, and needs a good run to get his career back on track

At the end of the day bud, it's Cheltenham, and EVERY horse is trying, it's not like normal racing where half of the tossers dont put their best foot forward. You often get big priced winners, and horses that have shown a lot of ability in the past often come good at this festival because trainers have laid their horses out for it and they know what they are capable of.

Dont let a short priced favourite put you off backing a horse at decent odds, and dont let a long price put you off backing a horse simply because of it's long price, there's more long odds winners at Cheltenham than anywhere else in the season mate ;)

John i think you are getting Ingles Drever mixed up with Hardy Eustace, Ingles Drever has never raced in Ireland.

His form is rock solid having won his two starts this season, you are right about him being a course specialist he has ran 6 times and has either been 1st or 2cnd

Cant see him losing today with My Way De Solzen for the forecast

Right, whats everyone on today then?

I went for an each way lucky 15 with the following

Back On LIne 12.30

Gwanako 4.05

Gunner Jack 4.40

My Yahab 5.15 (really fancy this one at a big price)

Also some singles include

The Listener 2.55

Tamarinbleu 2.20

and Albertas Run 1.05 (nap)

After closer inspection, I really cant see anything getting close to Ingles Drever in the 3.30 either, it's already raced against the best of the rest in the race this season and put them all to the sword pretty easily.

Happy punting folks and good luck to all :)
