Pretty much the same as you, it just keeps firing up images of buildings in Glasgow. Only buildings with that colour that I could think of in Edinburgh were around the Grange area.

If anyone has the energy to try some of the buildings out, here's a list of some buildings in Edinburgh and the stone they used:

http://earthwise.bgs.ac.uk/index.php/Quarry_sources_for_Edinburgh%27s_buildings_-_alphabetical_list_by_building

The names of the red sandstone quarries are near the bottom of this page:

That was a tough one

I don't want to see another turret as long as I live. ;)

Did you get it through Google Maps in the end? Eagle-eye or wandering along the streets?

Just sitting visualising myself driving along every street from the train station. As soon as I realised, it was 100mph to type it before someone beat me to it.

I've got quite a few good ones sitting waiting to go, but saving them for tomorrow as I'm off to my bed now.

Clues so far....

This building has a lot of maroon pipework.

This building is more than 25 yards long.

I'll think up a new clue in 5 minutes.

Ah, so it's longer than 25 yards but not longer than 25 metres. Therefore it's between 25 and 27.3403 yards long. That narrows it down...
