A quick Google shows that the various badges all seem to be in metres, not yards, so technically for a 25-yard pool you would have to swim another couple of metres to get the badge. I guess they'v decided that would be too confusing for the kids. Or maybe you're just not good at swimming in a straight line so, all in all, you did swim 25m.
