Fair enough, you’re entitled to that opinion.

However, I don’t.

Yes it is possible but depends on where teams finish in their groups.

Scotland would consider it a success to get to last eight.

Don't care if England win it, if they do then fair doos.

If they get pumped out then it will be funny and I can laugh at the media meltdown but I think age has made me less hateful against the English national sides in most sports.

It's also made me hate Westminster more, tbh I think there is a correlation between the hate levels.

Every % point dropped in hate for the sports team has resulted in the same % increase in hate for Westminster.

Please don't go down that road again bazza ...you did it with Hibs in 2016😬

I see the SJWs are peddling their alleged intellectual superiority over the Tartan Army for spending their time and money supporting our national team.  When SJWs are no more than an inkspot in the real history books, I.e., not the revisionist crap, the Tartan Army will be following their team to Mars and back.

This could be it, they've been knocking at the door for a fair few tournament’s but the Euros may well be for them this year.

Tournament favourites in a lot of folks eyes outwith their own media bubble and why not ?

A squad full to the brim of excellent talent.

Good luck to Scotland, they'll  need it but England will go far this campaign, they've got the minerals.

My local town has a shipping company called A. B. E. I took a copy of their logo and printed it on a tshirt. Wore it down my local for the whole of the last Euros when England were playing. No one twigged😂

No need to worry about ABE, They are not winning anything.

With that squad they should win it… maybe their central defence is their weakest link but that midfield and front options are actually frightening

Ohh and their safety conscious manager doesn’t help them

If carlsberg did rivals...

The bit that gets me, is every time they blow a chance of winning something, their pundits knee jerk reaction is to say they'll win the next tournament! It's like they never learn, they're lacking in the GK department so they won't win this year, they've not had a world class keeper since Shilton.

Bull's-eye

As a rival, no way do I want them winning one single game, never have, never will.

To suggest they aren't capable of winning these tournaments is just plain stupid though, they most certainly are. They are a very good squad of players with real quality in a lot of positions.

No way am I jealous of them though, like so many on here.

England winning it won't be the end of the world for me and I certainly don't blame them for getting carried away, so far in my existence that part of it has been most enjoyable when the arse has fallen out of it.

Make no mistake though, this could be their year  😳

Being positive or even neutral towards your rivals in a cup competition is a dangerous game on here!

English MSM are very sore losers.

They really stoked the fires when their women lost to Spain in the World Cup fire.  The kissing fiasco by the Spanish FA president

I’m a lot more chilled out about it than I used to be. Partly because I have zero interest in English football these days and I’ve barely even heard of most of their players.

They will win something eventually, I’m sure. They almost have too many good players not to. And like Hibs winning the cup, I’ll accept it and move on. However, I’ll admit that given the choice, I’d prefer that they don’t - which is 100% down to the degree of media hype.

What a sad bunch some of you are.. most people down here want Scotland to do well. The Tartan Army will no doubt have ‘legendary Scotsman’ Mel Gibson with them in Munich no doubt to give them a boost and lift their kilts up, very pathetic behaviour, small country syndrome springs to mind… and for the posters going on about the national anthem, I take it you have never stood at the service at Haymarket on Remberance Sunday

Got to agree with you there. But it's just the same few posters with thousands of posts on here, often dozens in the same threads. England can potentially do well, they could and should have won the last final. Southgate's decision making let them down, as did their specialist penalty taking subs! Lessons learned and they will be strong contenders.

Those going on about the English media...maybe if you read tabloid guff but then that's your decision. it's like expecting informed analysis from the Daily Record or the National. If you look at more quality output, there's no evidence of over optimism and there's plenty of informed analysis, caution and considered comment and scrutiny. An absence of which you could more fairly direct at the Scottish media.

Each to their own. I'm fine these days with England winning, just as my Yorkshire born mate is with Scotland doing so.

After nearly 40years down here even I'm surprised at the level of hate for Southgate and the general mood of "here we go again". There's no feelgood factor,  which is  surprising  given the strength of England's squad.

As  for "ABE" , I'm still genuinely impressed  at the  level of support from  most people down here for Scotland to do well. I don't want England to fail, I want Scotland to do well.

Forget the tabloids and the screaming English commentators : the fans ain't buying it.

PS It was good to see someone took the time to post a meme.

I tend to be quite neutral when a  tournament starts  and not minding if England win or not ! However the media then start the bullshit and it pisses me off and I’m willing that England get to the semi or final and lose on penalties …. Again !! 👍

Should never want England to win, just due to the sheer self entitlement of their media that we have to endure on telly year after year. Great team but seeing the media crumble when then hibs it again is too good. I hate them.

I want England to beat the Aussies in the Ashes, I wanted the English to win the rugby world cup in 2003, but I never, ever want the football team to do well.  A massive bundle of contradictions.

Now they've got their free commonwealth games Stadiums and their taxpayers wembley rebuild at the cost of billions and their sky and bt and now oil money they dismiss our game now that theirs is full of money

Then they turn their phone off, realise none of it's theirs and greet themselves to sleep

It's a toss-up between disastrous not even out the group stages type explosion and all the hyperbole that would go with it.  A REAL we're not as good as we think we are - but still not grasp that perhaps continually getting easy group stages and SKY marketing of the EPL inflates their ego just a tad.

Ooooor get to the semis and get put out by the first decent team they play but not realise this is what always happens and while they're a decent team, they're just not quite the top team, ever.  And being the bookie's fave is only cos all bunting flying, chair throwing, Tommy Robinson following gomeral are lumping on in willy hills.

Both scenarios work for me.  First one saves a few nerves.  Which is merely the curse of not so much sharing a border with them, but sharing national broadcasters with them.

ABE to the max.  And as per usual, my local will have its England corner and the banter wil be great, as it will with my English friends, family and colleagues.
