Kevin Nisbet.

Seems to be Hibs only hope atm and he’s out of contract at the end of the season. I doubt he will fancy staying on at that basket case of a club.

Should we go for a pre contract? Would be a great option have imo.

Still got 18 months left. He'll be at Celtic next, either this month or summer.

End of next season his contract up.

I noticed a lad on Twitter who seems to be quite in the loop with Hibs transfers saying they’re considering offers for him as he won’t be signing a new contract.

He isn’t a reporter or anything but was on Twitter giving it big licks they’d signed an Aussie on Friday and it wasn’t Bailey Wright who they’d been linked with in the press, which obv turned out the be Jeggo.

Be interesting to see what happens as it could seriously derail them if he goes.

Actually read it wrong. Out of contract next summer is correct.

ignore thread. He’s a good player imo. Never got much from our defence.

Nah, doesn't have enough power or pace. Doesn't look like the physique has changed in the years everyone has been aware of him. Next.

You would have read relentless marketing in the press, like with Porteous, if he was out of contract this year.

Can see him going to an English Championship side, they'll have the money to pay the 2 or 3 mill for him, and he doubles or trebles his wages. Probably his level too, if he doesn't go to Old Firm.

Didn't he choose Hibs over us?

There was rumoured interest in the press at the time but the club denied it plus we'd just been voted into the Championship.

Let's see if Nisbet's form lasts longer than half a dozen games before getting carried away. He only scored 5 goals in 26 league games last season.

500k bid from The Rangers in the summer, another bid of 250k in the winter window. Pre contract for start of 24-25.

Hearts have placed a great emphasis on the character of players we sign and I don't think Rab C. fits the profile.

He was angling to leave Hibs within months of signing, iirc.

No from me.

One simple modification to your last sentence and, suddenly, the guy becomes a seven or eight figure transfer target :silly:

As you mention that horrible ***** Porteous, for a guy who thinks he's wonderful at attacking the ball, he was a joke at our opening goal yesterday and the way Humphrys outjumped him just before Shankland second yellow was unbelievable. Then of course he starts telling Shankland to beat it in his usual plastic hardman style.

Humphrys would absolutely pulverise that rancid piece of shite. A really sore one before he ****s off to some unsuspecting mob would be quite delightful.

That’s my take on it. He didn’t fancy coming to us cos we were relegated or about to be. Fair enough I suppose Hibs were able to offer him more money. Our squad is more or less full now with quality all over the pitch and I’m not convinced he’d start ahead of anything we’ve got up front.

championship bound for £1.2 million or thereabouts which isn’t bad business for them but leaves them woefully short, especially if Porteous follows him out the door

Still would be surprised if he left this window, but then it is their last chance to make good money on him. With Porteous going on the cheap, Boyle injured, they dont really have players who they can make money on apart from Nisbet.

He certainly seems to be wanting out (as others have said, it sounds like he was not happy at Birmingham getting knocked back.)

Could see him warming the bench at Rangers right enough. Just don't think Ange will be that interested.

Can’t see Nisbet going in this window. Even in an imaginary world where a club offers a 7 figure sum, hibs would need to quickly sign someone BETTER than him as a replacement and I just can’t see them getting that person in at this stage of the winter window.

if I was a hibby, I’d be concerned. Thankfully I’m not.

Nesbit is a good footballer. Quite similar to Shankland in that he’s got more to his game than just being a penalty box poacher. Also takes a decent free kick.

Absolutely zero chance he signs for us.

Only way he’d ever end up at us if he were to go down south or something and it didn’t work out - even then it’s a push to imagine him signing for us.

After the Porto situation,  you can absolutely understand them trying to get him to sign in this window, or sell him.  Very different in the summer when his value will start to drop and they risk him not signing a new contract in his final year.  Hibs need to rebuild the squad after a scatter gun signing policy and will need funds coming in to do it.

Is slow as **** was it not him that Sibbick sprinted past for his goal ?Decent poacher though to be fair but he was easily handled yesterday like he has been in every derby he has played.

Yup, why on earth would we wish to downgrade?

I think Hibs will need to cash in on him as soon as possible. I’d be astonished if he agreed a new deal there, and they need whatever they can recoup wages or transfer fee wise to try and rebuild the squad.

Reading between the lines, so defo NOT ITK, it seems to me that there have been genuine bids in for both Porteous & Nisbet with both being 'held back' specifically for last night's 🏆derby so as to save their season.

Methinks that they'll both be gone this window and replaced by downgrades (see Jeggo).

Let's face it; Porteous was instrumental in our record 🏆 win at their gaff last night, and Nesbit continued his fabulous non-scoring derby performances.

We're not going to even consider either of them. Simply not good enough.

I'd go as far as to say that I almost feel sorry for any club shelling out ££££s for either of them.

The fact of the matter is that H1b5 are clinging onto a top 6 place by goal difference and are heading down the way.

It really wouldn't surprise me if they end up in a play-off scenario and end up totally Hibsing it.
