Fingers crossed Aberdeen get absolutely pumped tonight....

A nice comfortable 4-1 win for the jambos on Saturday though! HHGH

They will score obviously so we will need to score 2 or more. This is usually not a problem v United however so 3 1 Hearts. Off the top of my head we scored 12 v them last season.

Hearts to win & Shankland to score @ 3/1.

Sorely tempted. Think I'll pass though, as I seem to jinx it everytime I bet on us. Rowles hopefully plays & that should give us even more solidity. We need to start denting the GD to a more positive number.

Hearts to win though. Unless Aberdeen & St. Johnstone do something miraculous... then we're back. Clear in 3rd.

So it ever was.

Aberdeen have St Mirren at the weekend, beating them would keep them 3rd even if they lose to Rangers tonight. Albeit, we'd then have a game in hand.

Good feeling about this one.

We hit the ground running after the World Cup break and United are still on theirs.

1-3 Hearts.

Shanks is a cert to score at least one.

I like the idea of Shankland and Ginnelly up front as they were set on Saturday.  Think this could cause them lots of trouble.  2-1 hearts

I have to say, these "official" threads are getting worse. Not enough '*' and the first line of the OP should always be the date of the game, the kick-off time and the venue. Just as it used to be. Pwopa!

Get it sorted oot!

That said, 3 points for the Jambo's and no messing!

Diadora Van Basten

Chance to go third with a big Hearts support travelling up there.

From past experience this usually means a poor performance and either a draw or a defeat.

It would be good if we could get a win (any win would do) and that would give us momentum for the trip to in form St Johnstone on 27th in what is now a 6 pointer.

Not sure how obvious that is with Halkett, Rowles, Kingsley, Cochrane and Gordon all playing now.

Doesn't mean we'll def keep a clean sheet, but I heard Robbie say Halks, Rowles and Kingsley have had 24 minutes on the park together this season.  They're 3 of the best defenders in Scotland and that includes the OF.  We'll be just fine in defence.

This is a game we should be winning.  Never know how a game will go, but we turn up, we win.  Get at them, play at pace, we'll break them.

Gordon

Halks Rowles Kingsley

Natty Dev Snoddy Cochrane

Gino <> Shanks Bazz

Gotta be happy with that.  Solid, plenty threat, plenty control.  Got experience, legs, bit of bite to it too.  Also capable of being clinical, which is my only concern.  Bazza and a couple of others could do with chipping in a couple more goals, including the defenders.  Maybe a Kingsley Christmas cracker!

Dundee Utd are the worst team in the league imo. I think we could win by 3 or 4.

Bazzas right boot

We seem to score enough v them but are also a bit rusty at the back.

Utd may actually be a bit more pragmatic and defensive this time, could be tough.

6-3.

Anyone got a link to tickets? Was going to take the wee man to keep him busy on Xmas Eve but the link on Hearts E-Tickets doesn't seem to take you to the right place and you can only buy Dundee Utd v Ross County tickets.

Or is it a sell oot? In which case - any spares? :D

We play at 2pm on Saturday, Boab.

And as for Aberdeen against St. Mirren...well, recent history isn't kind to them there.

I'm more than confident, by 5pm Saturday, we'll be 3rd.

Barring an Aberdeen "upset" v Rangers midweek, like I alluded to.

Might be a tad optimistic there Mr P, I'm sticking by my 3rd by January prediction.

Yip, 3rd by January for those who require it to be repeated.

Must have missed all of this on the socials 😖

Thankfully hadn't said to the wee man that we'd be going so hopefully he won't be too disappointed.

Would appreciate if anyone can give me a shout if they have a 1+1 though.

Fingers crossed. Wouldn't be surprised to see them win at St Mirren though. But we are in good nick regardless IMO.

I don’t think there’s much to argue about the first XI for this game, perhaps the right back is a coin toss.

_______________Gordon

______Halkett__Rowles__Kingsley

Atkinson__Devlin__Snodgrass__Cochrane

___Ginnelly__Shankland__McKay

as long as they don’t have any pace out wide to turn Halkett I imagine we’ll keep a clean sheet.

It would be nice for Forrest or Humphrys to come on and make an impact. I actually think we have a good squad when everyone is fit with plenty of bench options but obviously I would never say no to a couple of quality additions.

I’ll go for 3-0 Hearts

I’d like to think the first half v Killie was by design and an indication of the focus we’ve found during the break.

Slicker play, midfield looking brisk and influential.  Away games are just naturally tougher but it shouldn’t really mean we change the way we want to play.

If we get in front and look comfy, we need to start dealing better with the reaction from the opposition. We were stuck in cruise control as Killie launched an attempted fight back.

I was hoping that D.Utd we make this one of their PPV games, but there's nothing on their site. Anybody got any info?

Not seen anything but you can buy IPTV or a firestick and get any game that is on including Hearts games. Costs as little as a tenner a month and you get all the 3pm Saturday games.

St Johnstone are at Celtic so can't see them sneaking into 3rd at the weekend.

Livi are at  hibs,  could probably do with a draw as  they're still hanging about like a bad smell as well and maybe more of a threat than hibs.

St mirren are close as well, maybe a draw v Aberdeen suits us more.

It's all very tight,  a good chance a win v utd will put us 3rd tho.

A St mirren win puts them 1 point behind Aberdeen.

Can you plug IPTV into a computer, or does it need to go into a proper TV?

If you have a smart TV you can download the app without the need to have a fire stick. The app costs less than a tenner. I use this site for watching games. You can also download a 3 day trial pass for a fiver.

As long as its not as bruising as the March visit. We seem to score goals freely against them, suspect for that reason, we can expect more bruising and a tight affair, take a sneaky 1-0, Shanks pen of course

I expect us to be too strong for them , they are maybe a better team than the position they are in ,I don't see much in them to hurt us , it's about us turning up on the day .

For the one off purchases, does your subscription automatically expire, or do they retain your card details and keep charging you, until you cancel.

I'm always wary that some of these things can be difficult to cancel.

And do you need to use a VPN...

Making the 4 hour drive from Ullapool for this one, then straight back up after.

Last time I went to Tannadice was probably 10 or so years ago so I'm looking forward to this one. Sold out now I believe which is incredible considering its on Xmas eve, most people are skint, little or no public transport options, weathers crap and our record there.

Our fans never fail to surprise me.

You BACS transfer it over so they don’t take anymore money than you subscribe for. You order then pay what you’ve ordered. Can do anything from a month to a year. No VPN needed and works perfectly. You get all sky sports channels, BT Sport and all the games you would want from around Europe. Well worth the money especially if you don’t want to subscribe to sky sports and pay the inflated prices they charge

Any word on humphrys.  Would love to see him back playing.

Yes Robbie said he would be fit for the Killie game. 😍

He had a scan on his ankle which showed up nothing and yet he says he is still getting pain.

Really odd.

A key potential final place deciding type of game. The type if game that can help decide a league as well as a third place, you have to take advantage when a close rival loses.

They’ve won 3 of their last 4 home games so may not be as easy as the table suggests. That said we should be too strong for them.

Captain Sausage

Results have gone our way over the last week.

Would be great to exploit that and jump to third by the year end.

Dundee United and St Johnstone away are both tough games we have historically struggled with. Hopefully with so many quality players fit, we will have enough to win both games.

Indeed, they gave the sheep a 4-0 hiding there back in October, but as you say, on paper it looks like a mismatch.

We will win this, I reckon 3-1. Aberdeen at best will get a point against St Mirren.

We will be third by Saturday evening.

Where are all the posters that said we will be struggling to get top 6  🤦🏻🤣

Think Smith will start at RWB. Their Left back looked decent at the World Cup especially going forward so may be wise to go with the better defender.

They only appear when we are  losing and they get all excited about Bob being sacked.

Win a few games or things look up and they all clear.

Some had us struggling to catch hibs.

It's odd that specialists can't find anything and it's still sore after 6 weeks. I'd be concerned if it was me especially if I had access to top class medical facilities.

Both next two away games will be far from easy, just hope we bring first half performance against Killie & extend it to 90 mins….. Dundee Utd not a bottom of the league team & oh how I would love to be beat St J, horrible little club, but stuffy & our record there is diabolical

St Johnston and Killie are two clubs that regularly over-achieve against us. I hope the result against Killie is the start of a new era against them.

The old cliche, there are no easy games, this season I  think its true. Anyone could go down in truth, St Johnstone looked a strong favourite, yet are challenging for third.

Should be easy enough for managers now to get their teams up for every game. At least away from home teams tend not to sit in, should be 2 enjoyable games, now the farmers have a bit of freedom
