Which one?... or both? I think the collective term is 'tossers'. Either way they're both fuds.

Strange defending that behaviour.

Defo... but then again he's picked him... for whatever reason... probably feels he can't go back now and is, instead, backing him. Defending the indefensible. It'll be funny if he plays and gets sent off for feigning injury and just generally being the bomb scare he is!

I definitely think Kingsley is worthy of a call up - he's been fantastic for quite a while now.

I'm not so convinced about McKay.  He's an a very skilful player but there are elements of his game that aren't international level. Watching him recently he's been coming in from the wing with the ball but constantly running into trouble as he holds the ball too long (maybe he's waiting for a run from his team-mate that never happens) and sets the other team on the break. There were also a couple of occasions against Riga where he stood watching the attack develop and didn't make the run to get ahead of the defender to turn it into a goalscoring opportunity.  Nit-picking maybe but when you're competing against players who play in the Premier League and score/create there, hard to make a strong case.

Porteous getting picked shows the dearth of talent we have at centre half. I hoped we'd seen the last of Hanley too but only if there was someone better to replace him.

Do Sky not have the rights for Scotland games anymore ?

They sold the Nations League games separately.

England games are on Channel 4.

if that’s McTominay in midfield then it’s a good team, if he’s in the defence then he’ll play them onside all day long

According to my local Mexican commentator, he's at right central defence.

Which Scottish centre backs would you have picked?

No way McKay gets picked ahead of an EPL player.

Totally agree re McKay that’s not happening never

I'm done.  Honestly, Clarke has chucked it.

I've no idea why he gets such an easy ride compared to previous Scotland managers, the guy has failed over and again and if he looks at Porteous and thinks in any way he deserves to even play for an SPFL Prem team let alone be in a Scotland squad, I'm close to final straw with the guy.  Outrageous decision.  Genuinely staggering.  I don't care who is injured (we know Souttar and Halkett would be in there, take it Cooper is injured?  Still, I'd rather we brought someone up from the u21s for experience than have this unprofessional joke of a player anywhere near the squad.

McKay should be in there.  Not sure who drops out looking at the squad tbf but he deserves a call up.

That's a stupid thing to say. I think it merits an apology.

Hope you did. That was a superb performance particularly in the 2nd half. Relentless effort. Deserved to win by more than the margin we did. So many good players when we are at it. Onto Ireland and we are certainly due them one!

Declan Gallagher over Kingsley, that's got to be a joke surely.

Jobs for the boys but if it’s one less chance of another injury for us then it’s a result

I realise that we have a few injuries just now but I can't believe some of the dug meat that's been called up to the Scotland squad and capped over the last year while Halkett, Kingsley and McKay have been broadly overlooked.

i dont understand the doig one as we have tierney, taylor and at a push since he is needed at RB hickey. cover for RB seemed to be more a priority

Declan Gallagher and not Kingsley must be because of recent injuries, surely?

I assume Kingsley has knocked it back due to niggling injuries....

A right back and a midfielder drop out so he replaces them with a left back and a centre half??

Said it would be Robbie/medical team/himself when Plug was called up at the start of this week.  Must be.

Gallagher is a centre half.  Are you not thinking of the Motherwell player?

tbf a CH dropped out before the ukraine game without being replaced so was needed. i do however agree that a RB would have been a good position to call up

So Steve, you’ve yet again left out Stephen Kingsley. A quality, versatile, experienced defender on the top of his game and opted for Declan Gallacher of (checks notes) St Mirren.?’

Yes. I weighed up the options and I just felt that with Declan’s international experience, he would be a better option on this occasion.’

’Ok, that’s great. Thanks for clearing that up. So why call up Ryan Porteous?’

. . . . . . . . . Steve?

Em, well. . . . Ryan is . . Em . . . . Hmm . . . .  Eh . . . Ah **** it!

It can only be because he is left sided and we are OK at that side.

He’s been quoted today in saying he chose Gallacher over Kingsley because of his experience. But he called up the uncapped Doig in the same announcement to go along with the (inexplicably shite) uncapped Porteous.

That's why I'm saying it could be as we are covered at the left side as what he's stating makes no sense.

Henot gonna say that Gallachers only in because Kingsley isn't fit enough yet and ruin the formers confidence.

Kinglsey should have been in months ago ahead of Taylor, who is pish - I dont think I have ever seen him make a forward pass.

Taylor plays for the strongest team in the league every week keeping a £5m signing out and plays well for them week in week out.
