JayTeeJnr Posted September 21, 2022 Share Posted September 21, 2022 I definitely think Kingsley is worthy of a call up - he's been fantastic for quite a while now. I'm not so convinced about McKay. He's an a very skilful player but there are elements of his game that aren't international level. Watching him recently he's been coming in from the wing with the ball but constantly running into trouble as he holds the ball too long (maybe he's waiting for a run from his team-mate that never happens) and sets the other team on the break. There were also a couple of occasions against Riga where he stood watching the attack develop and didn't make the run to get ahead of the defender to turn it into a goalscoring opportunity. Nit-picking maybe but when you're competing against players who play in the Premier League and score/create there, hard to make a strong case. Porteous getting picked shows the dearth of talent we have at centre half. I hoped we'd seen the last of Hanley too but only if there was someone better to replace him.
