Yes. Start of this week. For 20 minutes. Checked it's working. Radiators heated up. Bled any that needed it.

Now back off.

Suggest you do similar to avoid a nasty surprise when you need it later and engineer's might be harder to come by.

I have a Nest so it decides when it goes on/off (I can of course override it or choose the parameters for it)

Heard the pipes and heaters creaking earlier on so it must have been lightly heating the place. Might put it back into a learning mode for a week so it only kicks on when it's a bit cooler than 10 degrees outside.

Don't normally need it on until late Nov/Dec.

Mind you, got my cousin visiting from Essex next week so half expecting him to moan about it being cold.

Yeah I know what you mean . I feel the cold more than others as I’ve got arthritis. Plenty others with illnesses which make it difficulty to tolerate the cold .

Same here. Switched on because of elderly parents. It only usually needs to come on for a wee while in the morning to boost the place up, but occasionally we'll give it a boost during the day if it's a cold day.

Captain Canada

Not had ours on since about February. If I get my way it won't be going on until December.

I've got plenty of jumpers, hats and hoodies I can put on. 😀

Yes.

I stay in a first floor flat and the block is well insulated.

Heating maybe on for an hour.

Occasionally twice a day.

Always wear shorts.

We have a wood fire in the living room.

It's been on this weekend.

It's brass monkeys at night here.

Was 2 degrees at 21:30 last night.

Everyone needs an Oodie and then the heating will never be on😃

Check them out.

Do they do them for dogs?  The wife puts the heating on if she thinks they're cold.🙄

My heating is on 24/7……temperature control on the radiator in each room…….heating a house up from scratch is very cost ineffective as your central heating has to work its backside off if the room is very cold.  Had a new gas central heating system installed 3 years s. Moths gas bill was £38……last months £29 😁

I bought some thermal leggings and one of those big wooly hoodie things to use.

I really dont think i can afford to put my heating on more than maybe 30 mins before I get up in the morning, looking at how much gas is costing me just now, while heating is off completely (showers and cooking only).

Decided will go into office this winter, instead of working at home.

Not sure what Truss is thinking. If the average bill is 2.5k and she freezes bills at that then half the country will whack the heating up to max for the whole winter...

The average household bill will be £2.5k. Chances are if you live in a 3 or more bedroom house with a family you'll be an above average user. She's only 'froze' the unit costs so the average user bill hits £2500. Whack your heating up to max for the whole winter by all means, just remember your bill will likely be much more than £2.5k for the year though! You pay for what you use...there is no fix at 2.5k as such
