Not USA this time, but Prague.

AR-15 used, as usual.

15 dead and counting so far.

Wonder if it's a another follower of that peace loving religion?

Was in the Old Town Square in Prague on Thursday and Friday last week. We actually commented on how despite it being very busy with tourists it seemed extremely safe and there seemed to be such a low key police presence. Just shows it can happen anywhere anytime.

As usual? Handguns involved in almost double the number of mass shootings in the states compared to rifles.

Aye, just add more fuel to your prejudices. No, it wasn't.

Take another guess.

You need to find better sources of information.

About this case in particular.

And, given your posting history, also just in general.

Carl Fredrickson

I have a friend who teaches in Prague and has daughters at college and uni there. The school he teaches in was within a couple of kilometres of the incident and it was a tense couple of hours yesterday before I heard from him,

I despair at how we as humans can treat others and some of our actions. Always has been the case but news coverage is so instant nowadays it feels like things are getting worse.

Police came very close to preventing this tragedy.

The guy's father was found shot dead at home earlier in the day and after finding that the shooter was due to have a lecture later that day they evacuated that university building.

Shooter wasn't in that building, he was on the roof of a different one.

More concerning are his social media posts, detailing his plans and going back almost a full month.

Zero flags raised.

But then, that was on Telegram, the Russian twitter.

It’s absolutely useless trying to reason with a septic regarding guns…………..you’d be as well handing Paddy 2 shovels and asking him to take his pick 😁

Didn’t hear the full police interview on sky, had the volume down quite low but, an I right in saying he had 8 licensed guns? I thought I heard that during the police translation.

To be fair, they could also arm the janitors, you know just in case the teachers go ballistic……then the school traffic wardens could get involved, just handguns mind as they need one hand to operate the traffic “stop” sign………big handgun though, desert eagle type of thing.

😆

It depends on what your view is and who you think are terrorists.

How are we defining terrorist ?

Are they people who pursue their ends through violence?

Just interested in your bacon theory.

I'd beg to differ on 2 counts.

Soviet Union and China both eat pork.

How do you define terrorism?

I read that drug deaths now exceed both gun and car accident death rates.

I don't live there but some of the cities look badly affected by shanti towns and zombie districts.

Are some of these images I've seen a true reflection of what's going on ?

Beyond a joke how they utterly refuse to alter their gun laws. An utter shithole of a country.

The 4th mass shooting of this year seemingly and we're only on the 4th January.

As long as there is money to be made and the Americans want to pretend that they're Billy the Kid or Jesse James, then nothing will ever change.

Got the number wrong. 1 dead, 5 injured is bad enough.  What is worse is the kid that died is a 6th grader.  So young.

Taken from a survey 7 years ago.  It would be interesting to see the percentage increase in weapons per 100 now, I’d guess the USA increase would be significantly higher.

😂 Nah, technically that 3.3 figure could be correct, but there are thousands of guns in the hands of RFD's (registered firearms dealers) like gunshops that carry a stock of guns to be sold and guns taken in to be destroyed, gun importers that will have, again, many thousands of guns waiting to go to RFD's to be sold to certificate holders, that will reduce the numbers of guns per person, actual shotgun and firearms certificate holders, by quite a bit I recon?

Michigan school shooter's mother blames her husband in trial testimony

A US mother on trial for failing to stop her son from carrying out a deadly school shooting has sought to put the blame on her husband. Jennifer Crumbley, taking the stand in her own defence, told jurors that the gun she and her husband purchased for their son was not her responsibility.

Mrs Crumbley is the first parent to go on trial for a mass shooting carried out by a child. Her husband, James, is facing a separate trial on the same charges. If found guilty, they each face up to 15 years in prison.

Their son is serving life in prison for killing four classmates at Oxford High School in Michigan in 2021. He was 15 years old at the time of the attack.

Hopefully the husband blames her at his trial. All in the name of fairness.
