I can't believe we've signed a guy who failed a medical 🤬

I can't believe people think Hearts have just under £500k to spunk on a player who fails a medical.  No chance hearts would sign anyone who failed a medical

Absolutely over the moon with this signing. Loads of chances and he will score many goals for us. 2 footed and hungry. Welcome LS , welcome indeed

Hopefully he does what he failed to do at United when they were in the Prem. Score plenty goals.

Speaking to a utd workmate today. He said shankland was best finisher he has seen in years (guy is in his late 40s) but he didn't have the service in the premiership from midfield hence he mediocre record. He reckons that he will do well and the boy neilson will turn into a decent player too.

With McKay's through balls I think he'll be much better than Boyce is upfront.

So many people on here raging that hearts signed Shankland and resorting to "I can't believe hearts signed a player who failed a medical"🤣🤔

I note that the PR has mentioned his involvement with the Hearts Academy as a youngster, can only increase our co-efficient of self-reared players.

You have to have been trained at the club a minimum of 3 years between certain ages, I don’t think he was here long enough to be counted. He’ll be counted as home grown in Scotland, just not club grown. But we were alright in that area anyway.

There’s a star man wearing number 9

His name is Lawrence Shankland and he’s scoring all the time 🤔

Didn't realise he started at Hearts as boy.

Not according to Hearts website:

Lawrence signed his first senior contract with Queen’s Park in 2012 and after a prolific 2012/13 campaign she then joined Aberdeen

He was in the youth academy at the time.

A renowned goalscorer, the move signals a homecoming for the 26-year-old after he spent his formative years in the Hearts Football Academy system.

Lawrence signed his first senior contract with Queen’s Park in 2012 and after a prolific 2012/13 campaign she then joined Aberdeen. Loan spells at Dunfermline, St Mirren and Greenock Morton followed before he made the move to Ayr United in 2017.

One for the LBGT+++++++ lot then to be proud of.....

“... she then joined Aberdeen.”

Even Hibs can’t claim a first for this one !!

Think it’s safe to say that what Robbie says in the press about transfers is never really true…and I have to say I like it that way. Sounded like it was dead last week, and then out of the blue it had gained tread. Well done all those in charge

Can’t believe there’s been no interview yet. I need to hear him say he’s “buzzing to be here” and “delighted to finally get it over the line” and say “definitely” 73 times in 3 minutes.

Its amazing how quickly narratives form online, mainly from the other side of the city.

Shankland - 8 in 32 in Scot Prem = Cant cut it in top flight

Cummings - 5 in 45 (15 of them at Rangers!) = knows where the goal is & proven goalscorer.

Shankland is unproven at the top but i am excited. It feels like we are set up for him to focus on little but scoring.

The Twitter Doctors will be saying there’s no interview as he’s away for an operation.

I wouldn't really worry about anything they've got to say. Exhibit A:

Great signing. Was worried about a mo Johnston scenario but think he will be the missing piece with our team. Proper goalscorer

With creativity of McKay, Grant, Forrest and Boyce he will be fed.

Now are we still planning to play with 2 strikers?

Would be a nice extra payday for our new striker to get a 'no win no fee' firm chasing every undercover Hibby and other assorted clowns spreading false rumours of failed medicals! 🤣

Fantastic stuff.

I’m very excited to see Shankland and McKay and Forrest link up. Reckon he’ll bang them in this season.

Plus he linked up to great goalscoring effect with Forrest when they were both at Ayr Utd

The boy will do grand I believe, with knowing how to play with Forrest and the management team. Good times ahead!

We make a signing and JIH goes quiet and posts on the shed...

I'll happily take my next ban but it's so blatant 😂

Shanks for 30 this season
