Much better than Haring? He's been tremendous for the vast majority of the season.

He isn’t first choice when Beni and Devlin are fit. We will sign better imo.

I would have liked him re-signed. Is this another Walker situation where Hearts would like to agree an extension with him but he wants more starts?

You'd think there was an element of that.

He'll be looking for the best deal financially and football wise and maybe Hearts are not prepared or cannot offer him what he wants in this regard.

Halliday, Haring even walker would be ideal for us if they were happy to play second fiddle.

We could get real quality in the first 15-18, safe in the knowledge we have decent, sold cover, unfortunately players may want different things and have other options.

Think he is looking at his next deal as being his last decent one and I also heard he would prefer to be playing in Germany or Austria.

This is the time to be offering Beni a new deal. He will be into his last 2 years by the start of next season, id be offering him a new 3-4 year deal.

If he is to be out injured long term it's probably our best chance at getting him tied down. And while we're chucking out new deals Barrie McKay can have one too please :)

You never know how a player is going to come back from injuries and you have to be careful throwing around silly money, but I'd say Beni has shown plenty to justify a deal even with the injury. Give him some security to come back slowly.

Only if we spend a lot of money 💰

Beat Hibs in the SC and we will suddenly have quite a lot of money to spend.

Hardier to do without Beni, though. :(

our best player imo could easily see him playing in england in 4 years for a top 6 team if we can somehow get him signed up until 2025 we can sell in 2024 for big money

Opportunity for Pollock or McGill next season until then ample coverage, our strength is in the team, not individuals

The strength of our team IS the quality of individuals. The absence of Halkett proved that.

We will miss Beni big time particularly if we get to the final to face one of the OF.

There's been absolutely nothing about this being a long term injury in the press. Surely something would be out by now if it was 8/9 months?

I believe today is the first day back at work so maybe something soon.

Gutted. We always seem to suffer horrific long-term injuries to key players.

Wishing Beni a speedy recovery and I look forward to seeing him back next season, better than ever I hope.

Gutting, think he's had one of those injuries already in his short career.

Whats the normal time frame for sort of injury?

Should force our hand to go and invest in CM again this summer.

Absolute disaster :(

We'll just need to win the cup this year and next so he can play in the final.

Could be anywhere between 6-12 months depending on the severity.

8/9 months I think so might not see him until November.

Huge blow and will most likely miss our European campaign

Brutal news.  Just hope Haring stays fit and Devlin is back asap.

Glad we have Peter Haring on our books. Beni will be a miss, but we’ve now got to play the hand we've been dealt. I hope that Devlin is back fit for the semi.  We have still got enough in our locker to turn over the vermin twice.

Just a small note there that if that is his timescale, he'd be back while we were still playing group games.  Small solace, I know.

Gutted for Beni.  He's such a top lad and seems a great pro and positive boy, I'm sure he'll come back stronger.  Club will look after him well.

Looking for positives, it's a long time since we could lose such a strong player and be OK.  We badly need Cam back, but if he is back, he and Haring did very well together in midfield in their run together Nov-Dec.  We have Toby, too.  Smith has never let us down in midfield either.  We're not bad off.  As I say, Cam is key for me here.  If he's not back for the semi, it cracks a tightly shut door a little.

Souttar, Beni and Devlin; nae luck, but hopefully Devlin and JS will be back in time for the final, and we've no need to rush them before then.

What is the issue with Devlin? I thought he went off due to concussion but that was several weeks ago. 🤷‍♂️

Hamstring pull.

Cochrane was concussion.

Not unexpected but still hugely bad news for Beni and the club. We could really do with Devlin and Smith getting fit again quickly.

Add Smith in too.

Any minutes for Smith, Souttar for the remainder of the season I'd imagine will be very limited, if not zero.

And seeing what happened to Haring, would Souttar be prepared to take any personal risks?

Any info on Souttar’s injury?

Robbie said he would be ready for the Hibs game but I would take that with a pinch of salt.

He said GMS was only going to be out for one week after hsi wrist injury.

Gutted for Beni.

Do we know how far away Devlin could be?

We do have Haring, Sibbick and Halliday if needed to slot in there.
