I never watched any hockey at all until I went on holiday to North America in May/June. Went to the Rangers v Bruins playoffs game at Madison Square Gardens (game three, Bruins won 2-1). Hadn't even watched a whole game on the TV before then. Went to Chicago later in the holiday and ended up watching many of the Hawks' playoff games on TV. I'll definitely be following the NHL next season.

I'm also planning on trying a Capitals game when the new season starts.

Nice one. Always enjoyable getting more fans on here and especially at Murrayfield. Mind that the quality wont be as good as you've already seen but its still highly enjoyable.

Milton Keynes is a great city yeah?

:cornette:

Maybe he likes counting roundabouts?

But never mind that. Is Andy a Caps fan or no? We should try and get him to drop a ceremonial puck.

Hawks/Leafs. Watched the Hawks games on TV when I was in Chicago and have friends from there. My family are in Toronto so I look out for the Leafs as well. I would have seen the Leafs in Madison Square Garden for the semis if they hadn't chucked away game seven...

Except everyone else has been supporting their teams since they were complete horseshit, then won, then were some of the worst teams in all of sports, then won again. You did a lot of winning then ended up being horseshit. So there. :P

Any idea if times for games will likely change over the coming weeks??

Wanting to plan another Hockey Night in Edinburgh and Sundays are the easiest for people at my work to get off but it only seems to get a Sunday that has 3 games that has them spread out. Alot of Sundays which has like 7 games or whatever, all start at 7pm or later ET, was hoping for a nice spread and a choice of games for us to choose from. Just wondering if like SPL games get moved in a few weeks when TV pick up games?

If not then I guess I'll make it to a Sat.

Seethe here in Ottawa after Alfredsson signed for Detroit is beautiful.

Am hoping the Leafs do better than last year (still can't believe the last 12 minutes of that game 7).

A little peeved they got rid of Grabovski. But Clarkson is a good signing.

What's the chat? Are they raging at him or the ownership?

I was laughing at the Malkin to the Stars chat. Particularly like the way his dad said he would only sign for the habs or the NY huns.

There was different stories coming out from the player and the management in terms of what was offered.

Sens fans assumed if alfie came back he would sign for them. They were wrong.

Lundin Petroleum Sponsor Curtis Leinweber (seems they are an up and coming company in the Oil World):

Breken Inns become Main Sponsor:

http://www.edinburgh-capitals.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=688:capitals-secure-breken-inns-as-headline-sponsor&catid=2:news&Itemid=7

Caps sign Les Reaney:

http://www.edinburgh-capitals.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=690:capitals-bring-in-les-reaney&catid=2:news&Itemid=7

That last signing is a very good signing for us. Stats are fairly decent. Scores points and appears to stick up for his teammates, which is something we've been crying out for, for some time.

For those interested in a hockey management game, moving on from Eastside Hockey, which SI discontinued, those that do Out of the Park Baseball are doing their own version:

https://store6.esellerate.net/store/checkout/CustomLayout.aspx?s=STR4806181750&pc=&page=OnePageCatalog.htm

The current price lasts until today and a note thats its still in BETA rather than the final version. Comments seem mixed so far. Doesnt seem as user friendly as EHM, though I've not had much time to go through it.

Martin is a decent coach. Made a scapegoat of him when he was in Ottawa, when he was unlucky with goaltending.

I think my first Capitals game will be 14th September. Looking forward to it.

Against Sheffield I see with former Caps Coach, Doug Christiansen.

Tough game for you to start with!
