You can donate whatever you like, you can donate even if you had no intention of going, the whole point is for the supporters to do something credible to help the club offset the legal bills we've just incured by the club fighting for us.

The only way this gathers momentum is if it's transparent and you can see the figures rising with every donation, that in itself will make supporters add that little bit extra to ram it right up the Sheriffs of the clubs that voted us down for financial gain.

It will be viewed publically and will show how disgusted we are with the Football system in Scotland.

As well as Heart's getting our away pound, we'll be making a very powerful statement. As stated countless times I dont think the FoH should be involved at all as they will soon be the owners of the club and a scheme like this should roll on as long as theres money being paid in.

Its not compulsory and I've no doubt there will be supporters that will go to away games, thats their right, but there is an awful lot of supporters who will not be entertaining it for a long while and it seems to me there is enough interest in this to push for it to happen.

If £1 is donated to the club it won't be a failure and I think anybody with half a brain knows full well it'll be a lot more than that.

At last the OP has padded out his idea.

Perhaps people will now cease spectacularly missing every important point.

**** it. I'm in. Where do I sign?

I very rarely go to away games now, but had we been fairly relegated, rather than expelled,  I'd have gone to a few given the change of scenery this season. Not now.

Please please please get this organised and get it out and on to social media. I'm desperate to buy a few tickets!

Reckon an away day may have cost me in the region of £50 on average.

Ticket, just a couple of pints and transport.

13 games totals £650 over the season, assuming I went to every game, and I probably would have.

Deduct £50 for the Inverness match that I definitely will be at, and I've got £600 to spend on Hearts related items that I would not normally have bought.

Done £80 so far between the club shop and a Hearts fund raising raffle.

Minimum £520 to go between now and the end of the season.

Thing is, if you spend your £600 in the shop the club only get £480 of it.  The rest goes to HMRC in VAT.

If you donate £600 to the club they get £600, as donations don't attract VAT.

The OP has made a good suggestion - aimed at showing these clubs what income they could have had if they hadn't been selfish bar stewards .

However 2 points -

a) I don't think every fan who would have gone to a particular away ground should have to pay the full amount in to a Hearts fund. They may not be able to afford it, and anyway they should be given the chance to cut their usual costs a bit.

b) I  like the idea of publishing on here what a club could have potentially earned for us - but you don't need all this bank account palaver  to calculate that.  It should be possible to find out the capacity of the away stand(s)  at each ground ....... assume 90% full, estimate a split between adult and child/oap ... find out the entry prices ..... and do the math (sorry !!)    Meantime everyone chucks in  an extra X pounds (whatever they can afford) to FoH.

Don't mean to insult or deflate the OP - the principle of it is great !!

There’s also those who wouldn’t normally go to away games, who would happily give the away day ticket price to HMFC.

Boycott away grounds, donate some of the ticket money to the club and see the running total pulled from those clubs come back into HMFC.

FOH should be involved in this. They are, after all, there to represent those of us who have bombed hundreds/thousands into the club.

And it’s about time they did.

They/we are about to become the owners of the club. Don’t know how feasible this would be for FoH.

Not all going to the shop LC.

No worries though, I'll make damn sure that Hearts aren't short changed with my alternative spending.

I don't want to kill any club in Scotland, but there are a great many obituaries that I'll read with great pleasure.

Here are my thoughts on this suggestion:

Neither the Club nor FoH will want to be involved in any such fundraiser.  As posted earlier in the thread, it will have to be done by the supporters.  It would be prudent to get the Club's / FoH agreement that the fundraiser does not create a problem in other areas.

We're months away from Hearts fans attending any away game so, despite the apparent enthusiasm among many, there is no need  for any rush in getting it set up.

JKB has the mechanism for an ad hoc donation scheme, which we've used in the past.  The cost is about 6%, for both ends of the transaction, which is either deducted from the donation, or covered by the JKB Admin team. Donating directly to FoH would avoid those transaction fees.

It's not clear at this point whether anyone on the Admin team has the cycles needed to manage this.  Unbelievably, some people still have difficulty posting within the rules, and that consumes a great deal of Admin time.

Running a GoFundMe for each away match is an alternative approach.

The idea is still being evaluated.

FoH must be the way ahead here. They are already set up and established with zero commission being paid to third parties. Surely just needs the addition of a second account for pledgers to pay money into for any ‘away game’ fund. Would be good to know how much money isn’t going to other clubs though the most important element is how much extra goes to Hearts.

Think FOH are missing a trick if they dont consider this- potentially thousands of fans ready to put money in every fortnight which could make a huge difference. Would definitely be behind kickback doing something if the official channels don't

@Maple Leaf It can't be a JKB thing alone in my opinion. With the greatest of respect it needs to be bigger than this forum.

Of course,  if it was the only vehicle available, it would be better than nothing. But if at all possible it should be a stand alone "Away up in Gorgie"  message and approach.

Fully behind this idea.  Gives me a peaceful means of channelling my frustrations about the whole situation.

I also think there is an element of other clubs viewing FOH contributions with envy and their vote to demote us had element of jealousy about our financial strength post handover.  This idea would help stick 2 fingers up to the notion they can knock us off track and in fact would only make us stronger (if it were to get off the ground)

key to success would be the visibility of success therefore a running total of sorts is essential.  I get the nervousness around the potential for us to get egg on our face but I think it would add to the success and literally every £ raised is success in itself.  There is real sentiment out there to make this work

Agree with this.  As we know a large portion of our away support are not fans of kickback.  Needs to have broad appeal

Seems weird to me. It’s a forum for Hearts supporters. Nobody is a fan of Kickback. Kickback is a forum for Hearts fans.

That’s how I see it. I don’t know why the FOH would have any issue in having an away day donation mechanism. The reasons for the fans donations are of no concern since many of us have already made extra donations/upped our pledge because of our anger. To me this would be the same, extra donations to help the club because of our anger. Of course the wording and advertising would have to be legal and diplomatic but we would all know how much extra the club would be getting instead of rival clubs who did nothing to help us. If some fans motivation is revenge, who cares. Why the **** should we line those pockets ? And we certainly shouldn’t be ashamed to look after our own club instead.

There’s no reason that a committee cannot be formed or set up of well  respected and trusted Jambos. We could start this up and appoint 4-6 trustees to oversee the finances raised. No one could withdraw funds on their own and you could pass a mandate that 4 signatures are required in which to transfer funds.  An accountant could be appointed and a bank account set up, possibly look at charitable status so any tax liability could be surpassed or overcome. Money could be drawn down every three months.

I’d happily donate the cost of the away tickets I normally purchase for me and my daughter as I won’t be going to any ground bar Inverness.

We will need as much funding as possible and personally, I think It is a great idea and the way forward if we can arrange a mass boycott of away grounds. Be nice to be able to pay for a portion of the fine we are about to incur from that shower of 5hite.

Then again isn’t this why we have a Foundation? I do think there’s some mileage in what the OP is trying to achieve but maybe a separate fund within the FOH for away days donations would appease everyone?

I think it is a good idea but you’re right it would need to be managed, and be transparent, whether by the foundation or others.

I like the thought that the other clubs would see a monetary value, that they would have received from our fans visiting their stadiums, that instead will go to our club due to their actions.

There was talk of an FoH App allowing you to donate very quickly and easily on

the back of a good result or whatever. Things seem to have gone very quiet on this.

Folk could always donate to FOH then email the away team, to tell them exactly how much they're missing out on.

I'd love a dedicated bank account run by FOH. Maybe we could have a set of protocols so that we  all donate in the same way. Perhaps thee entry fee you would have paid (possibly with a maximum) and even a voluntary donation of a £ or two for every goal more than the opposition. We could also ask for that toe be given to the players as a bonus 😃😃. I would still be quids in compared to the cost of travel.

A GoFundMe for each game would be more pleasing, if the fees don't eat it. We'd get to see the number of donations and there'd be a drive to get the figures up to rub it in whatever team we're playing that weekend.

yes I was looking forward to this app but zero on it.

to be honest it’s still quite easy to donate through their site for one offs. It’s what I use and I’ve just saved it in my favourites.

Im content to use FOH for my away ticket money rather than other ways but will consider them.

Just noticed that Hearts official email tonight used the "Only Hearts" slogan - first time I've noticed that from them.  There's a bit of positive energy about the email too - good stuff.      I think  someone should just email Stuart Wallace and ask him straight  if  FoH would want to be involved in this  "Away up in Gorgie" initiative, or not.  Then we can discuss  options  further from there.

Why not have an alternative league table showing the respective amounts each club has lost out on.

Would probably assist increasing figures to ensure Raith and Dundee are top of the "money missed out" league.

I signed up to Go fund me and made a donations page for AWAY up in Gorgie. It was really easy and simple to do, what I would worry about is how easy it is to replicate, you could easily copy it imo and that wouldn't be good. Even if just a few donations ended up in the wrong place. It wouldn't be good.

It'd need to be an official thing done by JKB. Verified somehow.
