Think back to the Salisbury poisoning and the farcical Russian explanations and accounts on the matter.    The Russians deliberately crafted their account in order to mock the UK and others.    Deliberately made their statements so farcical and unbelievable that the underlying message was that they were guilty,   while absurdly protesting innocence.

This is similar.   But not to display guilt via an absurd claim on innocence.    The absurdity of this account is genuine.

How many do you know exactly?

I thought Nazi Germany was pretty much a core part of school curricula and had been for some time. Yet so many have no idea what Nazi means. Insult to the victims of Nazism and all those who  fought and died to defeat it. Many of whom would have qualified as Nazis under the new sweeping definition applied by many on here.

Yes, but the defacto PM held a one hour press conference and true to form fabricated his message to the public surrounding his decision making process directly linked to the pandemic.

You should probably watch or read about the industrial sized human killing factories in Germany and Poland .

They were created by Nationalist Socialists.

Sort of like the industrial sized human killing camps in Soviet Russia.

A socialist communist country.

Not anywhere near like westminster.

So if westminster looks similar to you.

Go for a drive clear your eyes.

Just taken my 8 week old daughter for her vaccines and the staff have said only 50% of new parents are taking them up. When they follow up, parents are sometimes petrified to leave the house or believe the vaccines leave their child vulnerable to covid-19.

I'm not sure what the usual take up is but this could be a worrying knock on effect of the pandemic.

The cabinet are all out and about trying to make the lie stick but its such z convoluted story to begin with that they keep forgetting the script that they're supposed to stick to.

Gove saying he regularly goes out driving to test his eyesight as per LBC interview and now bawjaws saying his eyesight was affected too despite several news articles from 2014 where he admits to being blind as a bat.

I'm sure the media are quietly fact checking yesterday's tallest of tales and all this does is dig Cummings grave a little bit deeper with every interview.

What an spectacle this. A full government openly lying to cover a lie by an inconsequential SPAD.

As remarked upon by a couple of legal people I follow on twitter : the story doesn't work because it's written to cover the now known facts.

What comes out of this is that Cummings isn't accountable to anyone except BJ because he didn't inform a single member of the govt about his trip at the time this farce started.

Add in the fact that the govts MOST senior adviser was not able to organise childcare in London.  That's some pretty poor planning and stretching credulity to its limits. Meantime him and his missus write articles about their Covid experience that bear no relation to the reality (or their  location) and then to stretch credulity even further he takes his wife on a birthday trip to a local beauty spot*-  that is a 90 minutes round trip-  to see if he's fit to drive back to London (his wife can drive).

*this is when the police are using drones to monitor car parks in the Peak District (it was on the national news) and telling people to stay away but now Gove lies through his teeth to say it was OK because Dom was going for exercise and it was allowable to drive for exercise at the time.

That's a good call, PB. Hopefully, there will be a solid drive to catch up when things get back to some sense of normality.

Hidden by the Cummings story was the fact that Aberdeen City had about a third of all recorded new Covid infections in Scotland yesterday, with 17. The next highest was 7. Of course, that could be due to delayed results, or e.g. the thorough testing of residents at a care home, but it certainly stood out.

They're all in.    Fully committed to and exposed to defending an absurd,   nonsensical explanation.     So fully committed that there's only one option.     To continue defending an absurdity until it goes away.     There is no option to tidy up the account with clarifications.

The distraction alone is grounds for him being removed.     But this government is not responsible enough to admit that.     It is too reliant on Cummings.

It's the emperor's new clothes.

Douglas Ross doing the right thing by resigning as a junior minister in the Government.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-52806086

"I have constituents who didn't get to say goodbye to loved ones; families who could not mourn together; people who didn't visit sick relatives because they followed the guidance of the government. I cannot in good faith tell them they were all wrong and one senior adviser to the government was right."

Im with you on this one as I’m not really into politics so don’t pay much attention to government stuff ect but after what I’ve seen the last couple of months I can’t believe these clowns run the uk.

Untill Sunday I’d never heard of this guy Cummings so when I sat down to watch him yesterday I thought I was going to watch a guy who could talk himself out of anything, what I watched was a guy that didn’t have a clue what to say and he tells boris what to do...... idiots the lot of them

Scotland Test and Protect (test, trace, isolate) goes live on Thursday.

Basically I think someone phones you. People testing positive tells someone who their close contacts are.

Must book a test if you have symptoms NHS 24 or online NHS Inforrm.

I picked up on that too. What he should have been doing of course is joining in the condemnation, or at least making some sort of strong statement about the potential damage to the public health message, but he actually implied by his use of words that he disagreed with Ross' judgement.

Weak.
