No one has asked why his wife's family in London couldn't help.

(Someone just asked about friends / neighbours in London)

Seems his 17 year old niece in Durham offered and that was it.

Politics is a brutal game.

I'd agree with you if he came out and apologised. He's came out and is treating us all like absolute brain dead idiots.

He's mentioned being threatened at his home.

But he seems okay now to be there.

If he was threatened he would’ve had a police escort surely, still doesn’t have one. I think he will be moving shortly. He’s keeping a lid on his emotions here, that look he normally gives the press is being hidden well.

I doubt many people who actually know the man have much sympathy for him. Including some of those who have tweeted in his defence.

He didn't fill up with petrol because he has a driving condition that means he doesn't need to fill his car up.  Happened in the Falklands I think.

Did you stop for petrol? Did you touch the pump? Did you pay in pennies? Did you buy a mars or a snickers?

Whilst I kinda agree with you, but he has brought it all on himself. He is showing no sign of regret, no sign of remorse ect.  He just will not admit he fecked up.

Talks about discussing it to get it out in the open.

Only discussing it because of the stories in the papers.

He's contradicting himself regarding the message it sends.   He's admitting he was wrong.     A slavering puddle.

The Barnard Castle trip should finish him. If he was really checking that he was safe enough to drive to London the next day then why take wife and son to a beautiful village and stop there? The family need not have gone with him, especially if he was potentially unsafe to drive! and he should've just done a non-stop tripby himself IF his own reason is correct...

Maybe Dominic Cummings is an total outsider.

No one in Police or security services was available to drive him back.

Surely the police can take away his driving license if he is admitting all this?

He thinks he's invincible. Clearly has the influence and ability to pull levers to try get things in his favour, but he is becoming the architect of his own downfall.

I predicted a coronavirus pandemic and advised the government to prepare.

How did those preparations go?

He shouldn't have been driving whilst knowingly impaired for a start.

The other one was he piled his wife, who was isolating from suspected Covid into a car and took her along with a potentially sick child to a hospital. Selfless.

He’s clearly somebody who is used to getting his own way, and thinks that he can do what he wants, and people will just need to believe anything he says.

The arrogance of power of an unelected, influential big head.

If the aim of his press conference was to confirm just how much of an utter helmet he is then it was a job very well done.

Test my eyesight by driving to Barnard Castle.

As I've said, in a public health emergency you need simple messages for people to follow to save lives.

A certain group of people are above that and can choose.

He said he was "cleared" to go back to work - but no journo asked him how could he be cleared to go back to work if he had vision concerns - and if he had , why go on a 45 minutes drive to BC.  Or did he hide his concern from his doctor ? It's feckin laughable.
