It's no great secret his body is breaking down and yet he's turning out for a meaningless Scotland match. The club should have stepped in here.

Meaningless?  It was his 50th cap that gets him into the HOF FFS!

The arrogance of some on here demanding Naismith feels the same is alarming.
There should be no greater achievement in football than pulling on the jersey of your national team.

Take your point but feck Scotland's national team. HMFC is my only concern.

No offense intended.

I'm pro-independence,  but if I were also a football player and I got called up,  I'd probably tell them to ram their cap 😒

As someone else said. He was walking around no problem after the game. No strapping, ice etc. Relax folks.

Absolutely certain he’d get injured for a nothing game, torture hope it’s not bad

Yep meaningless, plenty time for that when he has 10 club games under his belt.

Amazing people putting Hearts interests first on a Hearts forum.

But it does serve our interests.

Only players who are absolute stand-outs for Hearts have a chance of playing for their international team. Particularly in Scotland, such is the myopia towards the east.

**** off Scotland, Steve Clarke and Hearts for this one to be honest.

He is just back from a big injury. We shouldn't be releasing him and Clarke shouldn't be picking him.

We're utter knackered if he's out for a long time.

Or did well to take him off as a precaution

I love Naismith as a player but sometimes it does seem like he is bigger than the club.

Take your point, Gas, but it's meaningful to Naisy only. Most Jambos won't give a toss about it. His fitness and availability for Hearts is my only concern.

As he’s just played his first full game in months, he shouldn’t have been risked.

Until he is fully fit and managed a run of games he should be nowhere near the Scotland squad.

Can Hearts not ask that he be sent home?

You would hope they would ask that he be rested for the game on Tuesday anyways. I hope they do ask and keep him fresh for Killie next weekend 👍🏻

Well done Naismith. An honour to have a Hearts man being a captain for his country. Proud.

No saying its no a proud thing

I'm saying he owes his club who pay his wages to call it a day. A club that rehabilitate him every time he goes away for the national team and picks up another injury. We pay him every week But feck Hearts mon the Scotland and being captain but coming off injured. I'm as passionate as any other Scot but it's time for him to call it a day and prolong his club career

Not sure how many times I need to say this.

was at game

Naismith walked off fine. Sat  IN dug out

walked into pitch at end to clap fans. Walked off.

played well. Good result.

He’s made it clear Scotland is huge for him and that’s why he signed for us and never went abroad. It’s part of the package so we have to accept it.
Hopefully he is fine but (as is our luck) these injuries could happen anywhere.

Clarke says Steven Naismith is fine, didn't want to come off, but had been planned to hook him after an hour anyway. Calm doon folks.

This one thousand times over! It shows in fact how absolutely shite Scotland actually are as a football team at national level when a player who has hardly kicked a ball after being out injured can get a game for his national side let alone his club side! Scotland as a football team are without doubt one of the poorest teams in European football.

Good stuff

Great day for Steven as captain and getting the win.

His experience is vital in a young emerging team.

Yeah not having our best player doesn't make a difference.

I mean it doesn't make a difference considering hes always out. Of course a fit Naismith would make a difference.

It’s understandable though given how much better we are with him in the team. We are unwatchable without him.

Cool the jets. He’s fine was a planned sub. Also Scotland were just like hearts when he went off as in shite. A totally different team with him sending rockets up the arses of all around him💪🏼

Yes. agreed

however some folk can’t read updates from folk at the game. Great player and well deserved 50th cap representing all the teams he has done over the years.

So should change thread title from 'injury' to 'substitution'.

Was out all day, never seen the game, so just wondering if Naisys legs fell off?

Usual over the top reaction from the unionist minded culprits. Unlike them, Naisy puts country first rather than club.

He did indeed come off as I said. Doesn’t matter if he is captain he has had very few games and should be looked after in the best way possible to keep him injury free. This is a glorified friendly after all.

Yeah I saw that. I didn’t expect the captain to go off so early.

It would have been better if we had won tree-one.

we were lucky to win 2-1 could easily have been 2-2 if the ref hadn’t been trained in Scotland

Scotland were murder when he went off as they didn't have him shouting to press higher. Just sat in and invited pressure. Plus McBurnie is utter dung.

Better to get it under your belt when the opportunity is there as you never know the future.

Im pretty sure he won’t be playing on Tuesday v Kazakhstan now he’s got the milestone.
