Naismith Scotland captain and injury.

Dundee Utd having to play a league game without their best player today.  Would prefer us to go back to the old days where we didn’t have an international break, the team just had to deal with the absences.  Would stop this ridiculous congestion of midweek games in Dec and Feb. We benefited massively from this in 85/86 I recall.

Hopefully next Friday we are discussing the retirement from International football of one Steven Naismith.

Stevie has already said he wants to play at a big international tournament. He'll want to be involved in the play off in March and try and get to the finals. He'll not be done after these games.

Pity. Hadn't realised he'd said that. When was it? recently?

And signed for Hearts instead of going to America to keep himself more prominent for selection for Scotland.

That national anthem was almost as calamitous as the campaign. The fans about 30secs ahead of the team 🤣

Proud day for Hearts having the Scotland captain. Quick google (may be incorrect) shows last Hearts players to captain Scotland were Pressley, Levein and Mackay.

Olly Lee wearing number 8 for Cyprus as well.

Still sounded better than the Cypriot disaster.

Scotland lucky to survive that

Edit: replays show it was over the line, luckily no GLT or VAR :D

Was there ever really a bid ? He's hopeless.  Strong,  but no awareness or anticipation.

Would maybe get on at a mid Championship team perhaps, no higher

I just pray Naismith comes back unhurt. Hopefully he will come of after 45 or at the most 60 mins

Unlikely seeing as he’s captain.

McGregor booked for kicking the extra ball out of play  as if he actually meant to hit the ball already placed for the corner from where he was

He's said it a few times in interviews I believe, that it's one of his remaining ambitions in the game to appear at a major finals.

Would be the end of international football. Teams would have about 80% call offs these days.

Naisy been solid.  Making a big difference having someone as direct as him in the team.  Christie and McGinn thriving from it.  Naisy’s running took the defenders out the game for the goal.

I thought the Hall of Fame was for players with 50+ caps?

None of the players on your list had that many caps.

The only Hearts players that managed that many were Davie Weir and Craig Gordon... and now Naismith (I presume).

I don’t know what I was looking up 😂

Starting to get ridiculous the number of goals we’ve lost under Clarke at the start of the 2nd half.

Bizarre clearance into danger by Gallagher. Should be heading it for a corner.
