BBC reporting Sellik have accepted £25m from Arsenal for Tierney. How are other clubs gonna keep up with Celtic financially, going forward?

The gap is continually widening. It'll be interesting to see how much we value Souttar at when bids start coming in...

Easily.

Stop decrying Scottish Football as the bastion of garbage eye bleeding football that's not fit for purpose.

That rules Hearts supporters out I suppose,  just have to hope every other club does us a favour and portrays our league in a better light.

Breath not holding.

Emmmm, £22m into the tails of Desmond and the Sympathisers and £3m into the team.........we'll catch them by 2022!

Was sure he’d get a top 4 side in England, after all he is the best player Scotland has ever produced........he’ll be back on loan at Celtic in 2021 and will still somehow mange to get Scotland caps playing for the Arsenal reserves.

Arsenal are skint.

Spent £72m on a player.

£25m on another.

£18m or so on a player they loaned back.

Not sure English clubs understand what skint is.

Will be an upgrade for arsenal but they still need defenders.

Back up the road homesick next season.

Not allowed to wear his Celtic tap to the airport for Euro games so will be in the huff.

£3 into Desmond's pocket , £22M to cover Lennon's teeth-whitening bill.

Arsenal probably thinking they will be getting a player like Robertson.

25 million for a bang average player. Not bad.

Or maybe they wanted to make out early on they dont have much to spend so they would not be taken advantage by clubs

My sentiments exactly. KT is ok, but it's not hard to shine at Sellik when you have 95% possession and almost no defending to do.

Cruyff Turn

Great deal for Celtic, although Celtic fans think he’s worth £35million. 😂

They’ll be able to sign 3 or 4 top notch players with that and sadly it will take them further away.

I’m pretty sure they have a 15% sell on clause as well.

Good move for Tierney. For Scotland’s sake I hope he does well.

Five to One

Pretty good deal for Celtic. Been injury prone of late and career stalled a bit. Thought he was a better prospect than Robertson a couple of years ago, but nowhere near him now. We’ll find out how good he is down south.

Great move for the lad. Away from that toxic, shameful institution .

he may do well , or may not but regardless he’s having a go so kudos to him

Good luck to the lad. Hope he goes down there and is brilliant. Don't get why anyone would want him to fail.

I haven't read anybody hoping him to fail, that would be pretty petty. For the good of the national team let's hope he improves as a player.

If players from the scottish league keep going down south and do well or command large fees relatively quickly afterwards (McGinn, Van Dyke, Robertson even Waghorn) our league will start to viewed in a different light.  Hopefully then clubs like ourselves, Aberdeen and the like can hold out for a bit more when clubs come calling.

That’s the fees in total. Cash flow is more important. They will be paying the fees up over several years, in Pepe’s case five. They have also offloaded a number of players and assuming Iwobi goes to Everton they will have taken in around £75m in fees and taken about £1m per week off the payroll. Easy to do if you matchday income of nearly £4m and add on the tv money and sponsors money. It’s a different world.

I really, really hope the lad goes down there and plays an absolute belter of a season.

Scotland could have 2 left backs playing at highest level to go along with 9 other monkeys by comparison.

It's a shame he plays in a position where he'll only ever be cover. We need better players in the national team and we've ended up with a world class left back and a deputy who's better in his position than most of the rest of the squad. Typical.

Hopefully, then we can squeeze both of them into the Scotland team without playing one at right back.

He's a quality player and this is an excellent move for him.

He's not at Robertson's level but Robertson has developed considerably playing in England and with the pressure and competition at Liverpool.

Tierney is 22 and 3 years younger, so no reason why he cant get to the same level as Robertson.

Pity he isnt a right back...

How do we think he compares to Gary Naysmith, a left back who left Scotland at 21 and carved out a decent career with Everton?

I rate Naysmith considerably higher personally...but that may just be bias.

Naysmith far better imo. Naysmith held his own and even dominated against some unbelievable old firm players before his move to Everton. Tierney gets swatted aside by Uche Ikpeazu.

They didn’t, the media did. They are owned by one of the worlds richest families. Ridiculous to suggest they are skint. It’s just a matter of how much Kroenke/Walton’s want to invest.

Celtic have plenty tucked away! They are absolutely miles ahead financially anyway. It’s good to see players sold for higher fees in Scotland ,for a change
