Montrose 1 St. Johnstone 0

Ross County 6 points clear of Saints in group b if there's no change.

Ross 4-0 up. Scored 4 on Saturday, too.

St Johnstone getting beat by Montrose🤣

Is this finally the season they get relegated...been punching above their weight for so long one of these seasons they’ll be in trouble.

I'm content with us doing enough to win the game.

We don't need to risk players in these games if we don't need to.

Good for young Tony, but the real question is, can he step it up to a higher level than Cowden? He wasn't an automatic pick for Robbo' s Inversneckie side last season. I hope he can, I like the boy, but he has to sustain the good form.

Definitely, he has all the skill required and the vision. I think he will get a few games and appearances off the bench to deputise for Walker.

They could still try harder to score more

A win is welcome but we should be pimping (pumping even)  these team big time.

Another couple of goals seem merited but missing to make it a truly satisfying piece of work

Don't think I've ever been to Central Park. Saw us win at Cowdenbeath in the League Cup in the early '90's but it was at Dunfermline for some reason. 0-2 then as well.

Don't think we'd get much for them, TBH.

Which players would we be risking? These games se0em an ideal opportunity to get players fully match fit for the serious stuff

I would love us to go out all guns blazing and score 10. That's entertainment.

But I'm happy for us to just do the job and head home with everyone a bit fitter and better prepared. There will be more important games coming up very soon.

Agree. I think there’s something to be said for players and teams who still have a hunger to hurt teams more even if they feel the game is under control and coming too easy.

Its good to get into a habit,  develop a second nature, of actually wanting to enjoy the game more by wanting to put teams to the sword when it’s there to be done.

82' | 0-2

Ikpeazu finds Keena, who shifts it onto his right foot before blasting over the bar. Meanwhile, Archie Thomas is replaced by Michael Herd for the home side. Hearts make their final change too, with Jamie Walker replacing Dario Zanatta.

Not sure, SG. John did make his league debut at East End Park but obviously v. Dunfermline. He was abysmal, as I recall, but soon found his feet. Really liked him.

It sounds like we have pumped them - just sharpness in front of goals needs to be better (and sounds like their keeper has had at least 3 very decent saves)

That's the closest we've come to a third goal for Hearts! Aidan Keena twisting and turning, takes it on his left and tries to curl it in but Dabrowski tips round the post!

Honest player who was a hard working guy. Chipping in with the odd goal. Was Jim Betts legs

Maybe during the normal season. In these sort of games where people are searching for fitness it doesn’t matter as much

Who is our strikers coach? At one point it was Steve Crawford and I believe Robbo did a bit too when he was here.

Would be good for him, hopefully Walker is mature enough to mentor him now too.

Had to check. The East End win v. Cowdenbeath was August 1990. John Millar's debut was a year later.
