mmmm

I'd prefer the foreign friendlies next season.

I'd prefer a few competitive games in Europe and bypassing the league cup groups. Who wouldn't?

It happens to the best of teams. Their keeper had a blinder.

👍🏻

Good first half with a lot of good movement going forward and making chances albeit we were wasteful in front of goal.  The second half was a dreadful performance. Very little in the way of good link up play and too much passing along the back line before Berra shells it forward.  Cowdenbeath got closer to us 2nd half and we couldn't handle it as we don't move the ball quickly enough. Plenty work to be done yet and you could see Levein was furious with some of the play in that 2nd half.

3 points job done, a drubbing for Stenhousemuir next

Spot on. 2 goals scored plenty of good chances and no goals lost.

A good run out for all concerned.

Another Robbo

Yeah second half was worse and they did seem to press us more. As CL said after the match we should really have scored a few more. Thought Halkett looked solid at the back, good goal and a bit of pace. Burns was probably the poorest player out there tonight but to his credit he never hid from the ball.

After an hour we switched into pre-season training game mode. Who cares, the match was won and they didn't trouble us.

Once the team gels I hope the ball will be moved much faster.

Understandable given fitness won’t quite be there yet but a bit frustrating as goal difference could be important. Levein sounds a bit annoyed at our strikers being too selfish.

Interested to hear what those attending thought of Clare? Is he growing into the role he has been given? McCann and co saying he did well but still not sure of his best position.

Decent result. Their keeper stopped it being a 5 or 6 nil.

Washington must be getting annoyed. Same thing happened a couple of times on Friday.

1 hour ago, Barack said:

Yup. He's on the positions you want him, just not getting found.

Levein mentioned this in his interview, he said five times he counted players going for the difficult shot over the easy cross. He said he's not annoyed about it just now because he knows they're all trying to impress, but he's going to have a word.

It was hard to tell against that opposition, but he looked to have the tools to play there and he wasn't overawed by a physical team. We'll need to see him against better opposition and alongside Haring or our new midfielder to really judge, though. Bozanic was his usual self, good work rate and a useful player, but not quite top four in the Premiership good.

It could determine whether we are one of the 4 seeded teams to join the 4 teams in Europe who are also seeded but currently that is not in our own hands as we can only get 11 points.

Thought McDonald was excellent and Zanatta also for most of the game, was really good to see and with these 2 and also Walker, Mulraney, Morrision and Conor Smith we are well covered out wide. Bozanic and Clare we solid even though I was hoping to see Cochrane play tonight. Still think we are missing a decent right back if Smith gets injured. Rest of the squad looks really good, tonight was good for 65 minutes and then we took the sting out the game. Also surprised that none of our young or fringe players have went on loan yet.

Like Lee, always on his heels not his toes and slows everything down wanting an extra touch. Absolutely zero creativity

Sounds like Levein will be doing a session on the importance of teamwork tomorrow. Suspect Zanatta will be missing for a few weeks due to concussion.

Bozanic is a good, hard-working, mid-table Premiership player who we can rely on to cover injuries and suspensions or shore up a five man midfield. He wouldn't be in my starting XI, though.

He did, particularly in the first half. Always in about it.breaking up attacks and looking to move play forward. To say he was a disappointment is slavering pish.

Likewise Berra. He done what he does and was seldom troubled. Im not quite getting what Clare brings to the party though.

Forgot Dundee so add them in instead. Could really do with a few more upsets to ensure we get seeded.
