Surpasses imminent signing of naismith in terms of quality? Yes, no?

Obviously not. Both great signings in different ways though. Add walker and it’s looking good!

Big step up to be signing a guy who has previously gone for £3m. Very happy with signings so far. He has to do it on the pitch though and will get my support all the way.

Let’s set the Heather alight Conor

“Washington previously played for Queens Park Rangers, Peterborough, Newport County and St Ives Town. He joined Sheffield United on a one-year deal last August and made 16 appearances without scoring.

His record at QPR was 14 goals in 98 outings and he scored 33 times in 94 games during two years at Peterborough.”

Welcome Conor. Hope you smash the shite out of the Lochend tramps (and everyone else)

Going by comments on Twitter, the tramps have already written him off as another striker that have Hearts signed who doesn't score.

I have a good feeling about this signing.

Welcome to Heart of Midlothian, Conor.

Can we rehash the Lafferty song and change the last two lines to...

”He hates Hibernian, he’s Conor Washington”?

Welcome Conor to The Famous.   Hope you bang them in for fun mate!!!

Question still remains - Who was the gadgie at the airport  in the photo as it certainly doesn't remind me of Conor?

Both players played about 15 times in the Championship last season.  Washington looks the better signing though.

I'm just a wee bit minusculy concerned that neither of them, CW and JW scored a club goal last season.

Hope they build up confidence quickly in the pre season and hit the ground running.

Vanecek scored a lot before coming to Hearts :whistling:

I just think he has the attributes to be very successful. Physically he's an absolute machine, but beyond that as you say his work rate and attitude are fantastic. There's been many a player over the years who haven't been technically gifted that have had very successful careers because they've had that attitude and work rate (apologies for the example but Scott Brown, arguably the least technically gifted of that lot that came through at Hibs and arguably the most successful).

I also think he has more technical skill than he gets credit for, he's a good touch for a big man and there are many times he's picked the ball up on the half way line and got us up the other end of the park winning a throw in or corner which is vital at times, especially under the cosh. Don't get me wrong, he's very much a work in progress, he holds onto the ball too long and his decision making can be lacking at times.

I'm not saying he's a guaranteed success but I think he has the hardest parts of being successful already ingrained (hard work, good attitude, desire and listens), and the technical and footballing aspects can be developed in the right environment.

All imo of course.

Yes he shows a lot of skill at times . Hard to understand why people say he has no skill

If Lee gets number 10 i’ll throw myself out the window

According to our wiki page Lee's got 16, Djoum still has 10 but guessing that will go to Walker is Djoum goes.

I like the lack of loanees in our squad so far. Proper squad building.

True. Worth bearing in mind that loans can turn to permanent signings that we wouldn’t be likely to make otherwise, though.

Only me that thinks season ticket holders should get full access to those sorts of interviews without paying more cash.

Always thought that myself too mate ??

Re Washington, I can’t say I know too much about him, but the vast majority on here seem delighted so I’m taking that as a massive positive ?

Clerry Jambo

He looks a Gary McSwegan type similar in stature, hard to knock off the ball and hopefully hits the net

Just watched his interview on STV, wtf is that wee schoolboy with the Hibs tie asking the questions? Get him punted on to the weather.

Very happy with this.

Halkett, Washington, Naismith, Walker and perhaps a 5th quality signing (6th if being greedy) would be outstanding business for Hearts.

2019/20 could be good.

This is a great signing. In the market we are working in at the moment , he’s a good bet. Well done to the management team. Sounds like a hard working lad. Him and uche will scare the shite out of defenders if playing together

Haha, class, I’m just glad we washed our hands clean of that Vanecek mess quickly unlike last year where we never really replaced Lafferty, this could have been a disaster if he’d decided to do a Martin and see out his contract things were dealt with efficiently this year at least

Think vanacek decided to leave about December . Hearts decided to let him have his way about February .

Don't see how it has anything to do with efficiency ?

Player has a contract , what can the club do ?

Washington drains the Easter Road swamp.  Make Tynecastle great again.

Cannot wait for the new league season to kick in.
