Andy Robertson only went for £8m from Hull to Liverpool in 2017. £15m for half the player from Scotland would be hyper inflation. Will find out when they are both playing in the same league. Agree that Scottish clubs should be maximising fees from cash soaked English clubs. The Turnbull and McGinn fees suggest a sea change . T good when going forward but defensively against decent opposition gets his arse handed to him every time. Good on Celtic if they negotiate more for him but imo he's not worth it. The Internet
Robertson fee is a total anomaly. Even at the time it was seen as insane value which is rare now. No fee should be used a benchmark really cos they just don't make any sense anymore but that one definitely shouldn't.
Mikey1874
The great benefit for Robertson is that he played. Tierney going to Arsenal. He might be highly rated or he could regress as a squad player playing in League Cup.

Tierney couldn't even lace Robertson's boots, let along get anywhere near the Liverpool first team right now, he'd be lucky to make the bench! Better than Robertson ffs
adambraejambo
Robertson>Tierney by some margin just now. Can't compare the two of them when one playing against International wingers, multi million pound players every week and the other having to defend against George O'Boyle , GMS and Morrison and so on. Theres not many players in the world that should be going for more than £8m using that logic. Another comparison would be van Djik. Already a more proven player than Tierney when he left Celtic and he only cost Southampton 12m from Celtic. Robertson wasn't even bought as first choice initially - he fought his way into Klopp's first team. Any club like Arsenal buying Tierney will be making sure they have another quality LB in case he doesn't work out, so they won't blow a lot of money on Tierney's potential. I said on another thread Leicester seems the obvious move, especially as Chiliwell is attracting interest from Man Utd allegedly. Even if he stays, Tierney could compete with him as Robertson did with Moreno. Rodgers knows Tierney's potential better than anyone... Or maybe Tierney could be signed by Klopp as back-up to Robertson to replace Moreno - haha. Then he'd have the two best LBs in Europe (according to Pat Bonner!)
