Nope he is just not 100% fit yet.  Once he is and playing along side Naisy and Uche then we can judge him I think.  I do not think he should be in the first eleven yet but we have limited options and CL has given him the nod.  I guess CL knows better than me why that is.

How long does it take to get 100% fit?

Drop him if he isn't 100% fit. Getting sick of hearing this. He has shown NOTHING in a hearts jersey so far, despite bigging himself up and CL doing the same.

Game fit and fit are two different things and the former can be much longer.  I think Clare needs about 6 to 8 games alongside Naismith and Uche and then we can decide.  Naismith was poor for as many games when he first arrived I seem to recall.

He looks absolutely woeful.

What is his position? He sauntered about today and never got into more than a jog. His first touch is also really poor. He is another in the Martin, Amankwaa mould.

Djoum is also being played out of position to accommodate him.

Howdy Doody Jambo

Surely needs 6/8 games to get match fit and therefore be judged then, give the lad chance

It's a difficult time for him settling in as it is

He's shown nothing so far to suggest he's even close to the player we were told to expect.

Yes he's been out a while after a bad injury bit he's been in training for over 2 months now and surely that's enough time to get fit enough to show at least some of what he's supposed to be capable of.

Hopefully a massive improvement to come over the next few weeks.

While I agree he needs the chance to get match fit, the hype was such that you would expect to at least see signs of a player in there.  I'm no expert but so far I've seen nothing.  He had zero impact today against St Mirren.

Far better to castigate him and hope he fails.

It's the way of the internet Jambo.

6/8 games from when? He's already appeared in quite a few.

So is Clare right now.

Well sadly for him he is playing in the midfield that is as good as we have got, and looking pish in amongst it.

From when he starts to look half decent?

Am more worried with us persisting with Wighton, if I am honest. Clare is new to Scottish football, back from injury, no pre season and being asked to play probably way before CL would’ve liked him to. Wighton has come through the ranks in Scottish football yet looks a million miles off the pace.

Cool, so we give him a 30 game trial to get half-decent?

In terms of the hype, then subsequent performances after a delayed debut, he is (so far) even more disappointing than Oshaniwa.

Not writing him off yet, but with each passing week, he looks more and more like another Levein dud.

Gonna file you under irrelevant.

Why because I have an opinion  which as a supporter I am entitled to? If you are talking about irrelevant your namesake is doing a great job of being so.

Dusk_Till_Dawn

It’s a tough one this.

On paper it looked like a good signing and should be a good signing.

But our record of transfers coming good under this regime has not been great.

Genuinely not being facetious. List bad vs good, just out of interest.

He looks totally disinterested and lazy. I can't see a player even potentially looking to break out of him.

Sadly, I have to agree.

He has showed zero , not even a flash of any potential.

Looks miles away and I'm not convinced he is anywhere near as good as our coaching staff think .

He needs to prove us wrong with even a modicum of ability .

We've blown a scandalous amount of money on dud signings in the last 2 years.  Unfortunately Clare looks like another we can add to that growing list.

Too late, we gave him a three year contract.

He's had 20 minute against Aberdeen, a few minutes against Celtic (when the game was dead and buried) and started in a derby that was played at a ridiculous pace, in a hostile atmosphere as part of a patched up Hearts side. GIVE HIM A CHANCE FFS. He's hardly played any football for 7 or 8 months and is going to need game time before any judgement can be made. There is no way he was garnering the attention he was from clubs down south without having a load of ability. This guy will turn out to be a player. Bookmark it.

Do you still think this?

He's looked overwhelmed by the pace and physicality of the games so far. Makes the safe sideways pass, doesn't look up for a battle and no sign of a player with English PL potential. Obviously came in to the team earlier than planned, but he's not shown anything that makes me excited. Didnt really get the hype either, his YouTube clips are all from public park games!

Needless to say, hope he comes good, we've taken a big financial punt on him.

The whole fitness thing is overplayed.

He's been training for ages, had some sub appearances and a couple of starts.

Even if not 100% matchfit, give us 50,60 mins of blood , sweat and tears to the best of your ability and go off subbed blowing out yer arse.

Thats the only way to catch up with full fitness.

But then, maybe he’s just not got ‘it’?

I always try to post honestly. At the moment I have to say my previous post looks dubious to say the least. So far Clare (and Wighton) look extremely underwhelming and there is no doubt he’s struggled big time to have any influence. Disappointing stuff.

You mean Clare is not?

As I said earlier, he’s playing in a midfield that is as good as we have got. Hardly the Deli Alli that he professes to have modelled himself on.
