There was a good article in the Scotsman by Henry McLeish on this very subject in the Scotsman earlier this week. If the performance of the England team is a 'joke' I'm afraid our own performance over the last two decades is 10 times more of a joke. I'd do the same with the other constituent parts of each respective union too, if could be bothered to compile every single nation that's ever appeared at a World cup or regional championship finals.
