RobNox
Let's see if we repeat this exercise next year, having seen the extent of the damage to the pitch. I very much doubt that we'd have gone ahead with it this year if we'd fully understood what sort of state the pitch would be in afterwards. Unless we can come up with an alternative approach that drastically reduces the damage to the pitch, then I think this will be our one and only attempt at hosting a concert in the stadium. I heard BBC slating it earlier too almost taking the piss we had held a concert there. Slate Levein , the players , slate Ann about performances but slating us for taking expert advice then making some money and looking at ways to increase our revenues. That says it all about our national broadcaster. Hopefully we learn from that and utilise that knowledge next time to ensure we don’t have the same problem. If we can do these things several times a year we are looking at our turnover growing decently again. Aberdeen’s new stadium plans costings etc include hosting several outside events every year (in direct competition to the new conference centre). Thats just about the stupidest thing ever.. since cathro then our manager hunt ended with .... then our signings... then our tactics... our politburo coaching staff headed up by chairman Levein. Tynecastle opened the Edinburgh International Festival by hosting the world-famous Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. Huge prestige and it showcased the fantastic facilities at Tynecastle for more than just football. There was the small matter of some money (£100,000) being made from all the toffs from the sold out hospitality. The grass has suffered but will be fine for next home game. If this helps to generate a higher income for Hearts in the longer term, which I believe it will, then short term cosmetic damage is well worth the long term financial advantage. (and competitive edge if we get a new manager).

No it's an absolute embarrassment for a professional football club playing their first home league game in August to be playing on a pitch like that, there's no justification for it, you wouldn't see a junior pitch in that state at this time of year. We are a FOOTBALL club. I couldn't give a single **** about how much money we made from some daft concert, if it leaves the pitch in that state then it's not worth it. There are far more important things to look at, the pitch, in my opinion, is way down on that list.

kingantti1874
Admit it was worse than I thought, large parts were just discoloured but it is bare in other parts and will likely need reseeded, still we have 3 weeks in prime grass growing season and it will look infinitely better next time around and will fully recover in no time at all. that said, the club DIDNT do this on purpose, They did do it to raise additional revenues for the club and give us greater exposure - they followed advice and for whatever reason the damage was greater that I’m sure was anticipated.. maybe the equipment was down a day or 2 longer than planned.. whatever - lesson learned, the damage isn’t permanent - I’m sure we won’t be doing it again.
