Hopefully a higher calibre of player we have signed so far.

Can only see this through the loan process eg Mitchell, Naisy which would be good.

Yeah fair point.  I would like to see us go for Mallan if he’s available.  Goalkeeper has to be a priority though.  We are only mid-May so plenty time.

Would always have been a gamble. We are not too bad in the midfield when Djoum returns, if Henderson progresses as hoped he's there too.

Djoum
Adao (if possible)

Lee

Cowie

Cochrane

Burns

And add in one other and our CM options are pretty decent.

He'll either go one of two ways.

Feel he has unfinished business down south or come back up here to re-establish himself. We should be giving him a call - I'd be raging if he ended up at Aberdeen etc.

He might have to drop a league to establish himself, maybe a Sunderland but if not up here would be a fantastic signing.

Haha is this a hint you don't like Callaghan? He's there as well. I don't think Burns will ever play CM, Michael Smith's played decent at central midfield. With Liam Smith back from his loan, that might be where he plays permanently

He has been poor in there. A good full back but not a midfield option for me at all.

On the contary, I think Burns will play central midfield as part of a three for us

As far as I recall he said left side of midfield as in being a winger. I might be wrong though.

“If I had to pick I’d probably say centre midfield.

“That’s where I think I’m at my best; [the manager] has been playing me up front but it’s kind of in the No.10 position. I scored in my first game up front for Glenavon and I’ve just kind of stayed there.”

The fact I'd forgotten about him says it all really.

If we're playing 3 in the middle then Burns may very well play left side of the 3. It's good to finally have some options.

Fultons Right Leg

Shaggers back at Sevco by the looks of it. 2 year deal.

We can cross him off the list.

If true I’d happily take Alnwick off their hands. Looks a very good keeper.

Has anyone seen this lad play, know what he is good at or have any idea what he's like?

Are we talking about how an unknown 18 year old will fit into the side and where he will or wont be effective based on what he said in a newspaper interview.

I've seen him quoted as being a left back, winger, midfielder and striker.

Has anyone actually seen him play any of these positions, to say confidently he wont work in them?

I think, at 18, his options are open. I'll let Levein decide where he is going to fit.

Michael O’Neill on Sportsound the other night compared him to John McGinn, but didn’t think he was ready for a starting position immediately,  possibly season 2019/20

Heard Michael O'neill on the radio last night suggesting Burns is at least a year away from a starting slot.

Cochrane is probably the same, as too much is expected of him here. Give the lad a chance.

Not getting the Cowie love-in. His best day's are well behind him now and he hasn't had a great season this term either.

When Djoum is fit and interested, he can be an exceptional player, but is this actually likely?

Would like to see Adao again.

We need at least one real quality and pacy midfielder to be the linchpin in the middle.

Agreed about Smith. Played very well that day. Thought he could do a job as a CM.

Not saying we should sign him but I was impressed with him against Celtic when they got hammered. As strange as that may sound.

Hd made some terrific stops.

if we are looking at  Rangers players id rather we renewed interest in O'halloran. dont think he will get a look in and he could be the pace out wide we need.

Aye, similar circumstances to that big fat lad who played in goal for hibs at Hampden and played a blinder.

Form is temporary, class is permanent and there's a reason the boys backup to Wes Fotheringham.

I'm on board with move for O'hallaran

Would be a smart move for all parties

He will be surplus to Gerrard

Bazzas right boot

Barry's mckay has been told he can leave forrest.

Be a very good signing.

A bit harsh, but if we start the season with Harry and Smith as our cm as is being discussed we are in for a hard season.

O'halloharan is another one that would be decent , give us something we are missing.

Be interesting over the summer.

Prince, Adao, milnkovic away atm.

Cowie- bench player

Ross- bench player

Djoum- mainstay, but injuries?

Harry- for me, rotation, bench player

Smith-full back

Lee—signed as a 1st teamer

Imo we still need another 2 central midfielders that are better than what we have.

Even out wide, the two we signed will be used in rotation.

Probably need another 3 or 4 midfielders if we want at least 3rd.

Mackay and O'Halloran are exactly the types we should be targeting.

Good assessment. We seem to be amassing numbers, but not quite adding to the quality (yet)

Agreed we need at least 2 midfielders. Can you imagine how Many Lafferty would score if we had a decent supply from midfield

Mackay or O'hallaran Would be great signings

Think Mackay might head back to Ibrox

Depends if it's what Gerrard wants and they can offer 5 times what we can

You have to at least approach these type of players agents to test the water

I don't understand it. Michael Smith is just not very good. Nothing against the guy but he's really limited. Signed by Cathro as part of the supposed absolute shambles that caused our terrible season, and why Levein should get time to get it right I'm told, he's now being talked about as serious option for starting in CM. Bananas. Need to identify much, much better than that.

If we start the season with Cowie, Callachan and Smith as serious options for midfield we may as well pack it in.
