Thought the treatment from some against Goncalves was utterly embarrassing against County today! He may miss a few chances in games but at least he doesn't hide and if something doesn't come off, he gets stuck in again, unlike others who hate the thought of taking responsibility. And remember...if it wasn't for his goals we'd be further down the league still. I understand fans getting on a player's back if he's not trying, I've wanted players subbed plenty times over the years/decades for looking like he's not giving a fork, but never berated someone who has at least shown he's working his arse off.

Couldn't agree more. To fixate on Ismael's miss over what was otherwise a hugely improved performance is weird.

Oh ffs.. give that a rest Colin... I was there too..  this constant crap about accepting mediocrity and and claiming "you weren't there in the 70's"? get a grip man.. there speaks a loser

There you go again!

Just because we have a go at the perpetual whining, stating a very simple FACT, that we've been there before and, because we don't all join in the wringing of hands, you're amazing ability to read minds through the ethernet, tells you that we're prepared to accept mediocrity!!!

If that's not a perfect example of the subjective rot that has eroded any possibility of rational thought, of thinking that, just because someone doesn't agree with your whining that means that they must be whatever your mind clunks into labelling them as.

It's not about accepting anything, other than it will take time and, after today, with the majority of our possession being on the ground, and a return to form of Djoum, 23 chances created, 10 on target, if to be frustrated that we didn't convert any chances, especially Isma's - but stll seeing an improvement and, therefore, being slightly encouraged, if that's accepting mediocrity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The treatment Isma gets from a section of our support is really disappointing and unjustified . There are a lot of players in the current squad who have contributed a lot less this season but don't get nearly the sort of grief that Isma puts up with. Yes sometimes things don't come  off for him but he always offers himself for the ball and he always looks dangerous. And he is certainly not lazy.

Excellent post.
