Watt-Zeefuik
Do you know anything about the TPP, what's in it, who's behind it and how it came to pass? Add the TTIP and what do you have? This is not theory, it's fact. I'll bet you think it's a trade agreement don't you. Have no doubt, whoever gets elected will have no intention of doing anything about it. If they did they would get nowhere near the Whitehouse. Stop splashing about in puddles and go swim in the sea. JamboX2 already provided a helpful explanation of the term. It's not one that the anti-TPP movement uses on this side of the pond, hence my confusion. Have a nice day.

Watt-Zeefuik
What's going happen if the Republicans don't pick Trump?. If I knew the answer to that, I'd be on a plane to Vegas right now. At this point unless Ted Cruz pulls about 30 rabbits out of other people's hats, I can't see it happening, but if it does, I think fistfights on the floor of the GOP convention are likely. Clinton would also win in an even bigger landslide. With Trump or without Trump, the GOP is at risk of tearing itself apart. Watt-Zeefuik
It seems from over here, that there might well be trouble on the Streets, I was just trying get some perspective from your good self. I'd say the trouble in the streets would look much like it already does -- protests, counter-protests, and the occasional punch thrown between them. As to some kind of mass movement with giant marches or riots, I don't think so -- Trump's supporters are, from what I can tell, those used to being associated with the establishment who are annoyed that they're losing influence, and taking to the streets would be too big a change in mindset for them. All that said, it kind of depends on what Trump himself does. If he runs as an independent (which I think he'd only do out of spite, because I don't think he could get ballot access in enough states to be competitive), I'm making popcorn as the GOP tears itself limb from limb. If he doesn't run, I think you'd see some kind of splinter movement, or maybe a strong Libertarian candidate, but his candidacy really is a cult of personality and any Trump "movement" would fall apart without him at the middle of it. The other part of it is that the GOP establishment doesn't really like Trump, but it likes him a hell of a lot better than Cruz. Recently retired Speaker of the House Boehner had some pretty candid things to say at Stanford the other day: http://www.stanforddaily.com/2016/04/28/john-boehner-talks-election-time-in-office/ (To be clear it's Hastert, not Boehner, who's convicted of sexual child abuse.) Watt-Zeefuik
(This is Boehner's comment on Cruz from the above article. Remember, Boehner is as establishment GOP as you can get:) Much of the discussion ? and laughs ? focused on Boehner?s views on the current presidential candidates. Segueing into the topic, Kennedy asked Boehner to be frank given that the event was not being broadcasted, and the former Speaker responded in kind. When specifically asked his opinions on Ted Cruz, Boehner made a face, drawing laughter from the crowd. ?Lucifer in the flesh,? the former Speaker said. ?I have Democrat friends and Republican friends. I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life.? Boehner described other Republican candidates as friends. In particular, he said he has played golf with Donald Trump for years and that they were ?texting buddies.? His friendship with Ohio Governor John Kasich, however, was a little more ambiguous. ?[Kasich] requires more effort on my behalf than all my other friends ? but he?s still my friend, and I love him,? Boehner said. Boehner for the most part accepted Trump as the presumptive Republican nominee, though he did express his surprise at the candidate?s success. While he did not praise Trump?s policies, the former Speaker did say he would vote for Trump in the general election if he becomes the Republican nominee. He said he would not, however, vote for Cruz.
