magicTs
Prompted by the recent document thread I ended up coming across and watching this lengthy documentary; ‘The True Story of Madeleine McCann - Buried By Mainstream Media’. It’s extremely well researched and the evidence provided and detailed on numerous issues definitely influenced and changed my view on the case. I would warn anyone interested in watching it that it comes from a place of largely discrediting the McCann’s and some of the ‘Tapas 7’ and the incredible number of inconsistencies and indeed anomalies and changes in their stories. Yep, its lengthy however it is in parts so you don't need to watch it straight through! I found it pretty fascinating as it was so well researched and gave so much information, which as the title of the documentary states, has never been properly reported or in most cases whitewashed completely by the Mainstream Media. The main crux of the first part is to do with the numerous and continual changes in the stories and timelines of the McCann's and other on the evening/night of the alleged disappearance. It is a real eye opener as to how this all went down. I think for me the most unbelievable aspect of the entire programme was the part which tackles the Cadaver dog and the expert blood sniffer dog. The handler of the dogs is one of the most prominent and respected in the field anywhere in the world and has since opened a business which is heavily connected to the FBI. The dogs themselves have had incredible and sustained success, over 200 cases whereby they have not been wrong!!!! The dogs do not lie!!! They have no ulterior motive and what they found and alerted their handler too is in my view impossible to argue. And so it was very difficult to reconcile what we were told in the documentary as opposed to the McCann and their people's reactions to such findings. What really gets to me is how desperate they seem to be to discredit the evidence from the sniffer dogs in the apartment and if I was an innocent parent watching that dog as it signalled the scent of a corpse I would be more concerned that my baby was not alive than discrediting the dog. As in so many instances it just did not seen that was at the forefront of their minds. I'll be interested to hear what other's think of the part about the dogs. It starts at around 1hr 32 mins if you are only interested in that section. Edited August 21, 2018 by magicTs
HKP
Obviously this is not new news it's been around since 2007, as you've rightly pointed out Martin Grimes is seen as one if not the best at his trade. The dogs are recognised as being the very best. They signaled both blood and cadaver only on either items owned by the McCanns (clothes, cuddle cat etc ), in their apartment and also the Renault Scenic which was hired by the McCanns weeks after Maddie had 'gone'. Richard D Hall puts up a very persuasive argument, he has produced more documentaries about the case where he uses weather evidence to debunk the 'last photo' (not taken on Thursday 3rd as claimed) and statement analysis to point out lies. If your interested then the Gasper statements are worth reading, so is Amaral's book which can be read over the internet. It should be borne in mind that it was the British police who suggested bringing in the dogs and a specialist in Mark Harrison who guided the PJ in their conclusions. The manipulation of the press has been huge in this case along with some serious government intervention
jacklivi1874
The McCanns have been captious from the off and thats always niggled me..Never ever wanting to answer awkward questions either The should IMO tell the truth and shame the devil For what its worth I dont think they killed there Kid but done next to nothing from stopping what followed by there selfish behaviour I'll watch this and maybe my take might be different

It starts at around 1hr 32 mins if you are only interested in that section. But it was. This was the news they were dreading. They were not devastated by the dogs findings ( I don't say "evidence" because that has a particular and legal meaning to the Mccanns) in relation to the possible death of their daughter. It was the polar opposite of their view ( she had been kidnapped) that they had alone espoused in contradiction of the available evidence. GM trashed the dogs "findings" in relation to a similar case in the USA - but unfortunately for him, that case ended up with the father jailed because the dogs findings pointed the police in the right direction. As they had done all along. I'd stay away from Richard D Hall personally but if anyone has an interest in the case that doesn't involve UFO spotting loons, try googling notextusa or blacksmith / mccann. There 's some really interesting stuff from those bloggers . This is a good place to start because (IMO) it's very critical of the legal wrongs done to the family. But having said that, the family allegedly paid £500K to a PR guy (who I think swore on oath to that effect at the Levison enquiry) . This same guy just saw his PR company crash through the floor recently. Not sure if that says anything about his morals or scruples. http://miscarriageofjustice.co/index.php?topic=6114.0 Edit : the reason why this is important (to the credibility of the Mccanns) is that they complained to Levison about press intrusion. But all along , they had paid for media coverage. So, where did they get the £500K to pay for it ? magicTs
Nanojambo, a lot of things you mention in your post are tackled at length and in detail in the documentary......they do not paint the McCann’s or the people they involve (like the “PR guy”) in a good light. In fact quite the opposite. If you get a chance give it a watch sometime.

Allegedly, so I was told, a question sheet had to be submitted and vetted by them before they would agree to sit down and be interviewed, and only the questions which they wanted to answer were asked of them, if they were asked questions which were not on the sheet, well they just got up and walked out, interview terminated right there and then, there is a video of a Portuguese interview where they walked out, but I was told this also happened in the UK where they also walked out when they were asked awkward questions that they didn't like, unfortunately it was not caught on camera and it was then kept quiet by the media, presumably because the McCann's enjoyed the public's support at that time and the decision was made not to rock the boat so to speak, all allegedly of course. In this documentary you see Mr McCann get up remove his mic and walk off at least one news programme. You also see them both refuse to answer certain questions as well as say we’ve answered certain questions enough eg. Why would you leave 3 young children alone - response from Mrs McCann “we’ve been persecuted enough”!!!

There's a Youtube clip somewhere of him standing on the steps of a Lisbon court being interviewed by the media. GM does his usual , saying no evidence to say MM is dead. He is then questioned on his own position that MM was abducted and is asked what is the evidence for abduction (the journo points out there is none ) . He goes apoplectic with rage when he realises no one in the media huddle is taking him seriously. Another beaut is when he is interviewed by Jeremy Paxman. If you haven't seen it yet , it's well worth watching. Like watching a worm on a hook.

IIRC, one was trained to sniff out blood, the other to react to cadaverine (death scent). In the apartment the blood dog found tiny traces of blood on the walls (police then found more on the floor under the sofa which the Mccanns admitted to moving) and then they sent in the other dog, and the rest is history. The cadaver dog; or enhanced victim recovery dog to give him his proper title, was also trained to react to human blood and body fluid. Dogs don't lie , but curious to know how they differentiate !? May be in the video of course, however usually dog evidence is worthless, without forensic substantiation.

It was mentioned because most parents were probably thinking wtf!!? I lost my daughter at a gala once when she was 5, it took me about 30 minutes to find her and I never want to feel those feelings again in my life it was like she vanished. I turned my back for what felt like a few seconds and she was gone. Turned out she’d seen my dad (who I didn’t know was going to be there) over the other side of the field and took off but to think that if something had happened I’d be up for a game of tennis the following day is laughable. She’s 18 now and I still like to know when she’s home and stuff from nights out. Not saying I can’t sleep but I sleep much better knowing she’s home. My mate had problems with his 15 year old a wee while back and he was up all night out looking for her and stuff yet the McCanns just carry on? Aye??!? I know we’re all different but that behaviour seems completely alien to me as a parent. They’re either cold mother ****ers or or they’re hiding something imo. Who knows mate but it’s just not what I reckon is normal behaviour when you’ve just had your kid “abducted from your apartment” I struggle to comprehend that kind of coldness. I know people who’ve lost their kids albeit in different circumstances to that and they’ve been broken by it and I’d be the same. A close mate of mine’s son died in his bed a few years ago and he’s not over it yet. Certain times he breaks down and doesn’t cope well. To think the day after he’d be up for some tennis or whatever is beyond belief.

Agreed, how anybody, when their kid had been missing for a matter of hours or even days could be going for jogs or games of tennis and seemingly carrying on regardless, I'd be frantic with worry, most people would, I'd imagine. In all the years that we went on holiday we have never left any of our kids/grandkids alone, where we went the kids went. When the kids were wee, we usually tried to pick a hotel room with a balcony, so that in the evening me & the wife could sit outside on the balcony and have a couple of drinks whilst the kids were sleeping, I kinda think 99.99% of normal folks would pretty much do similar. What has to be remembered is that the kids of the 'Tapas 7' had been left on their own on other nights as well, it wasn't just a one off, it was a regular occurance for them to leave their kids alone. Because Maddie's disappearance is still such a debated subject and is still regularly being kept in the news, those twins can never ever have what could be considered a normal childhood nor even a normal life, as they'll always be known (unless they change their names) as the siblings of Maddie McCann and will always have to face the public divisions over her disappearance which that provokes. Of course failing to answer 48 questions might have raised police suspicions as well. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/48-questions-kate-mccann-refused-to-answer-madeleine-disappearance-portugal-a7710111.html Kate McCann refused to answer simple questions such as 'On May 3, 2007, around 22:00, when you entered the apartment, what did you see? What did you do? Where did you look? What did you touch?' Police probably have a basic understanding of body language. What I mean is someone who is an expert in the field. Swanny17
If my child had disappeared when I abandoned them to go on the lash, the last thing I’d be doing is playing tennis. I would spend every waking hour searching for them no matter how little impact I was making. No one would be able to stop me.

Has any UK journalist actually asked them why they played tennis the day after their daughter was allegedly abducted. Have they asked GM why he was laughing and joking on an apartment balcony a few days after their daughter was allegedly abducted. Have they asked how KM, the following morning after the reported alleged abduction, could sit and apply full make up and dress with full accessories like watch, rings, bracelet etc. like every other morning prior to heading down to face the inevitable press/media presence? The eyes say a lot about people. I don't like what I see in her eyes. It's a fascinating story. So many sides to it, to me they look a guilty pair, their wording has been strange throughout. They've shown a real coldness, at times talking about Madeline in interviews it's as if she was an irrelevance, compared to the twins who they are the opposite about Edited August 23, 2018 by rudi must stay
Jambo-Jimbo
Scotland Yard has asked the Home Office for funding for another 6 months. IMO, no, enough money has been spent on this case already, it's time the public purse stopped funding this, especially when day by day we hear stories of the police not being able to respond to crimes in the UK because of a lack of resources, well it's time to re-deploy the officers working on this case to solving crimes on their home patch. Correct if this had been some couple from a council scheme they would have got two bob and told that's yer lot. They are guilty of being negligent no sympathy for them from me wasting taxpayers money.

Ben Needham springs to mind, compare the money spent by the British police looking for him compared to the money spent on looking for Maddie McCann. AlimOzturk
Think everyone wants the girl to be found safe and well but such time has past now that it is almost certain that she is dead. With the world wide publicity that this has garnered then she would have been spotted or someone would have alerted authorities to her where about. Anyways, as tragic as it is time to cut the cord. Nobody involved in this; be it Maddie's parent, the press, the police or the Tapas lot are innocent. There has been huge amounts of **** ups and strange behaviour and if this hadn't been the case she may have been found. (If The McCanns didn't do it of course)
Cade
How many more millions of taxpayer's money are going to be wasted on this wild goose chase? It's insane the amount resources that have been spent on this.
