Totally agree.I posted this on another thread this morning

I've always said that the best way to influence any company is to impact their income\profit. I cannot see how fans can influence the SPL they get their money from Sponsorship deals. So apart from embarrassing them by SPL home fans boycotting games when the Rangers or Celtic visit, these games usually on TV so the pictures would show near empty stadiums which would be bad for sponsors and advertisers, what can fans do.

On average 80,000 people attend Scottish Football matches each weekend half of these are the OF home game so the number of people we are talking about either doing a boycott or display is minimal in the greater scheme of things.

Mr Topping has told us that the drive for change is having an adverse effect on the SPL's advertising sponsorship drive so that's the big stick they are trying to beat us with " rock the boat and you will get less money". As I see it then the way to effect the SPL is through the sponsors so aim to affect their income. Instead of concentrating on the 40,000 people who attend matches we should concentrate on the numbers who don't but watch on Sky\Espn at home. If these people cared enough they could influence the broadcasters stance.

Within Scotland I would think there must be over 1,000,000 sky sports subscriptions if you could get enough of these to cancel their subscriptions on the same day Sky would take notice. The sports pack is currently ? 20 per month on their web site. 50,000 people is ? 1,000,000 a month to sky.

You may think that Sky is so huge that ? 1,000,000 is too small an amount for them to notice it's not they measure and worry about not only income but market share so they would notice the money and if large numbers of subscribers cancelled at the same time.

Pick a start date say 1st June and see what happens.

Thanks for the support!!! In light of Sky's reluctance perhaps we may make them the subject of the next survey!!! :devil-smiley-029:

Sky are clearly bellends who don't care, they've continually ignored e-mails from us and God knows how many fans.

So, we're planning to put a statement on the homepage of the survey site to make it clear we feel that Sky do not care about the voices of Scottish Football fans. What do you think about the following message:

SKY SPORTS DON'T CARE ABOUT SCOTTISH FANS

We've been covered by the BBC on multiple occasions and other journalists have shown interest and requested access, but why are Sky so silent on this? We feel this silence speaks volumes, they don't care about us. Sky, who continually cause fans problems because of absolutely ridiculous kick off times to suit their TV schedules. Send [email protected] a e-mail to urge them to cover the survey and to let millions know that we've spoken. If they don't listen, perhaps it's time to reconsider giving them our money - Sky don't care about us, they don't care about football, they care about money. Football didn't start with Sky.

I know you guys thoughts are elsewhere just like mine yesterday but reality is we still need to address other matters.

Latest stats show it's been a slow weekend though was expected a lot of distractions so we need to re-gather momentum .

Hearts fans have been great so far but with 1155 responses so far from your fans i'm sure we can get a lot more from your support.

There have been a total of 11278 responses.

If Rangers are liquidated and reformed as a Newco, should they be allowed immediate re-entry into the SPL?

No (10795) - 95.72%

Yes (483) - 4.28%

In the event of a Rangers Newco being allowed immediate re-entry how, as a supporter of another SPL/SFL club would you respond?

I would continue to attend SPL fixtures as normal (1296) - 11.49%

I would NOT attend any SPL fixtures at all (6018) - 53.36%

I would continue to attend SPL fixtures but boycott any fixtures involving the Rangers Newco (3595) - 31.88%

I support an SFL team so don't attend any SPL fixtures (369) - 3.27%

Do you back the SPL's Financial Fair Play Proposals?

Yes (4108) - 36.42%

No (7170) - 63.58%

We have emailed a statement to SPL football club trusts asking them to encourage supporters of their clubs to complete the survey.

We appreciate your support so far however we need a push to regain momentum and to encourage those who havent responded to do so before the end of this week.

You could perhaps also ask the National Federation of Supporters Clubs (I think that's their name) to circulate it to the individual Clubs supporters Associations/Federations.

I have just received a call from Jim Spence asking me to take part in a discussion about the survey on BBC Sportsound tonight between 1830 & 1900 with Chick Young & Gerry Hassan.

I recall on Sportsound that Dodds asked you if there is any point (so to speak) as fans have been ignored on other issues in the past, if they try that hand again you should tell them that this time there is a big difference as, unlike last time, fans are clearly saying they will not attend future games, never before has a body of opinion from the fans made such a statement. It has no likeness to fans wanting a bigger league, which was mentioned in the McLeish Report, yet fans were ignored but never in the past have we said, 'give us this league set-up or we will not go to any games'

I can just see Chick Young playing this card tonight that's all thumbsup.gif

The most important stats are the ones where supporters are saying they would NOT attend any games if a Newco was allowed straight back in. I am sure it will be argued that, if push comes to shove, very few would take a refund on their season tickets and I doubt it would stop many from attending home games against a newco rangers.

However, the SPL should take note that the message is one of open hostility to any prospect of a Newco being allowed in and, by allowing this to happen, it would open the floodgates for seasons of dissent from clubs and supporters alike.

Lets just say indications are that someone is listening.

Can't say much more for now but lets just imagine the guy who started this got a wee invite to Hampden to sit down with the bigwigs what questions should he be asking.
