'The Rangers board continue to be dismayed at the standards of journalism from The Daily Record and can only assume that the paper is riddled from top to bottom with an anti-Rangers bias.'

Didn't hear pish like this when Traynor was still diddling about the Record corridors.

All that comes from that club (whatever that club is) these days is hate and snideyness, oh and lies and a bit of comedy of course, but mostly hate and snideyness

Why do you guys think Whyte is still silent? What is he waiting for?

Let's be clear about something:

The football "club" is worth nothing.

The season tickets sold and share floatation are scams designed to rip off the gullible.

The only things of worth are Ibrox stadium, Murray Park and the Albion car park.

Whyte, Green, Stockbridge, McCoist et al are trousering as much cash as possible before liquidation#2.

When FC Zombie disappear again, Whyte will then reappear as owner of those properties in order to sell them on to Rangers 3.0 which hopefully be a fan-owned honourable club, but we'll see.

Several spicy haggis suppers to start with. She can move onto smoked sausage when she's looking a bit less emaciated.

Rangers say they will complain to the Scottish FA following comments made by Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell.

Asked for his thoughts by a shareholder at Celtic's Annual General Meeting on why some in the media refer to Rangers as a club in existence since 1872, rather than a new club because of the liquidation of the company operating the club in 2012, Lawwell quipped: "Rory Bremner can pretend to be Tony Blair."

In response, a statement from the Ibrox side on Friday evening read: "The club are disappointed with the comments attributed to Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell earlier today.

"Rangers Football Club, now in its 141st year, has a proud history which has been recognised by the football authorities and was noted in a recent SPL Commission determination.

"The club will now take this matter up with the relevant football authorities."

Lawwell sits on the Scottish FA's main board as the representative from the governing body's Professional Game Board.

Interesting times. Although the football authorities my recognise Rangers I think this has something todo with 5 way agreement.

If the rangers push to hard they maybe forced to show legally they are the same club.

Is it now, "say anything about us we don't like and we'll grass on you"??

Something on TSFM tonight re a Rangers membership scheme caught my eye.

As a bit of background, Rangers Media is generally pro the current board (mainly through being anti Paul Murray or mini Murray as they refer to him). There is a suggestion that Jack Irvine recommended that the Rangers Media mods move all discussion on the Board and financial matters to a separate forum, only visible to registered members (which I'm not). The new forum would also allow Jack and his allies to plant their stories or ideas.

Apparently there is an item on the new forum that is indicating that a Rangers Membership Scheme (a la FoH) will be started up within the next couple of weeks. This may be the last throw of the dice to get some cash flow into the club before the merde hits the fan.

Lawwell ain't stupid and would not put further power at the SFA or a potential future UEFA/FIFA position at risk just to placate a few unwashed tracksuit manky folk.

He will have been given advice in what to say.

Potentially more Rangers cash down the drain if they dispute his comments..

Even if they liquidate again and come back as Rangers Mk. 3 there'll still be people (not least the trolls, sympathisers and their fellow travellers on here) who'll hail them as the same club.

Yup. No doubt there will be a Mk 3 too. And a 4 and a 5. However many it takes.

Seriously though, part of a club's 'brand' is its history, it's tradition, it's honours. Rangers' brand is being trashed all over the place. As a result they've publicly gone after a BBC journalist and now Celtic's Chief Exec. How cone they're not threatening legal action to protect themselves? What gives?

I think give the success of the Pars United group and the initial interest and capital raised by FOH then I can see most clubs launching something similar.

If they calmly brushed aside the new club chat, I'd imagine it would die down after a while. But NO, they react with fury and seethe, spitting feather's at anyone within range.

I love the way pretty much everything they release on the website these days HAS to make reference to either 'since 1872' or '141 years of history'. It'll be creeping into match reports soon.

Celtic AGM

Peter Lawwell asked about RFC being same club - Reply: "Rory Bremner can pretend to be Tony Blair"

So 'Rangers' are going to complain about this. I know we may be offended if Petrie makes a dig against Hearts. But what do they aim to achieve. Embaress Lawwell? Get SPFL to appoint a Rangers director (do they have any?) to the board?

Celtic and Lawwell can look after themselves. But Rangers looking a bit silly, small minded and partisan. Maybe they are the old club after all.
