The street layout has changed a bit, that picture was 1958 or 59. I had a look at that as well, using google earth and google maps but there are too many other buildings in the way. The red lines I think is approximately where the picture was taken (My Dad is the photographer) form in the garden where we lived in Oxgangs Crescent, The blue is the flats in Firrhill Drive in the background.
