Complete guess coming up, is it some sort of memorial garden near where the tunnel collapsed near Grantshouse in the late 70s?

I do enjoy an inspired guess. Even wrong ones, such as this :D

Now you see, I wouldn't have thought of that.

Dunks, so as not to waste bikerjambo's time (I would feel really guilty if so ;) ), are the tools railway-related?

All roads lead to Gorgie

I have googled just about everything related to tool shaped sculptures. Still nothing although those blasted Kelpies keep cropping up

The tools represent more than one industry. The railway isn't one of them

Sorry, biker. :)

So Calton Hill doesn't start from the lower level of Calton Road, strange decision - I would think the 100 foot cliff is part of the hill.

Not according to maps and pictures, the recognised Calton Hill is across Watrerloo place from ST. Andrews House. St, Andrews House is not regarded as being on Calton Hill.

"St Andrew's House is located in Regent Road, to the east of Edinburgh's Princes Street. It lies on the flank of Calton Hill, overlooking Waverley Station, the Canongate and Salisbury Crags beyond."

I'm with Redjambo on this one, St Andrews House was built on the site of Calton Jail which was on Calton Hill

Yup. I think the most sensible decision would be to award points to both Dunks and ginga.

:D Still not working. I'll have to sit this one out. Thanks for trying though, MMW, much appreciated.

Edit: Fired it up in Chrome - the image works in that. I thought it was a new "Where is this?" :)

I find these sorts of posts the most fascinating. I had no idea that this sculpture was on our doorstep. Undiscovered Scotland...

It's only a picture of the plaque that's at the 'Backshift' sculpture.

Doctor FinnBarr

Not sure TBH, was just going by the Orange club name although I think Dykehead is the end nearest Eastfield/Harthill/West Benhar/Pedens Stone

That's what it appears to be in modern times. In yesteryear, Dykehead was a village on its own, but several villages appear to have grown together to create the Shotts we know and love.

Don't forget to have a wee ogle of the Glasgow Hibernian kit on the way down (half maroon, half green!). :D
