In the water twice at the 18th at Sawgrass today. No miraculous double bogey this time as he posts an 8.

Also a double bogey at the 10th (his first).  He was out in 43.

His iron shot into the water on 18 after taking a drop was criminal.

When things are not going well for him, got to question how strong a character his caddy, Harry is. From the outside, it often seems an experienced bagman would benefit him.

I agree.  In recent years there have been far too many 6s on his card.  It is poor from him, with his length and usual accuracy to take 6 on any par 5, far less a par 4.

When I'm watching a tournament I generally keep an eye on the PGAtour website to see his shot tracking when the cameras aren't on him.  In recent months his accuracy in hitting the fairways on par 5s is very low. It is as if he is trying too hard.

It's a similar story in the bigger tournaments when he starts poorly, improves enough to make the cut then progresses though the field to finish in the top 15 or so, but without actually really competing.

To me, it's all in his mind.  His "A" game is every bit as good, if not better that all his peers "A" games.  Perhaps a sports psychologist might help (along with a new caddy).

Totally agree. Too much of a "boys on tour" feel about the relationship. If his actions at the Scottish Open a few years ago are anything to go by, the golf is a sideshow.

I think he's still at amateur level when  compared with Allenby and Daly.

William H. Bonney

Westwood and dechambeau, in the last group, 2 tournaments in a row.
Can’t imagine that’s happened too many times.

This week's golf has been tremendous. Puts any football viewing to shame.

The leaderboard is nicely bunched with up to 10 capable of winning it.

Westwood should be at least another couple clear if the earlier putts had dropped. However, his experience and patience reaped rewards.

Fitzpatrick's scoring was impressive. Dumped his ball in the water three times throughout the round but managed to drain putts from distance for pars and bogeys. Got around in level par when it could easily have been a 77/78.

Thomas is going to be a threat from just three back.

Westwood is probably a good partner for DeChambeau to play with (again) in the final round because he isn't going to turn it into a driving contest.

Hopefully another thrilling dual but it is wide open for a number to step up and put a score in.

Forecast looks good, though the wind picking up a wee bit as the afternoon goes on. Expecting the 17th to decide it.

After all these years of watching the tournament, I never realised the shape of the green resembles ET's head and neck! 😂 One of the commentary team mentioned it last night.

C'mon Lee.

After first hole thought brilliant start then last couple holes 🙄 still have him favourite he will clam down and find his consistency he has had all week . Bryson will bottle it trying to play too aggressive .

Things got interesting on the 4th! The cameras could have been at any club medal with the standard in display. 😬

Looks like the title will go to whoever makes the least mistakes. Wouldn't mind being in Corey Connors shoes if he can post 10/11 under.

That's a cracking tee shot by Justin Thomas on the 18th.   He knows it too.  ☺

Shame about the follow up shot.  :o

😀   Congrats Justin.

Cracking and a bit fortunate first bounce was very close to the water and the wrong kick could have seen it wet

Hate to say it but he deserves it played by far the best golf

Yeah it could have pinged severely left toward the water.

Shame for Westwood not getting that par on the 17th.   Too much to do after that.   He's improved his game last few years.

Birdie for Westwood on the 18th, unbelievable.   Hard luck.

Well done, Lee. Nice way to finish. Just felt like a battle today. Poor strategy on par 5s cost him on a day he was scrapping throughout.

His ball striking was way off today but he scrapped hard

keeps coming close but not quite when it matters

It's often the case when there are close finishes, you often wonder if players looked to secure birdies on par 5s rather than chase eagles, what the outcomes would be. You regularly see the scores for the week go par, eagle, bogey, par.

Oops an awkward choice of words by Andrew Coltart there. Talking about Justin Thomas he said

"well he exposed himself a few weeks ago" 😳

Anyone agree that Brian Harmon and Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting look pretty alike.

Yeah, Radar called it in Thursday! 😄

Harman needs to visit a tailor as his breeks are about three inches too long. #Shortarse!

JT a deserved winner. That run of birdies and an eagle was great golf.

The Masters is going to be wide open. I see Westwood, his son and Lowry are playing Augusta today and tomorrow having been invited by some members.
