Acey Posted April 8, 2009 Share Posted April 8, 2009 Hello KB, As your resident bookie, I feel that it is my responsibility to run some kind of football tipping competition for the board, to determine who is worthy to hold the title of Best Tipster on KB. The Rules Each competitor will begin with ?50 to bet with. Every week (which runs from 0000 on Friday until 2359 on Thursday), each competitor will be allowed a maximum of five bets. The bet must be on the football. No horses, dogs, pelota etc allowed. To place a bet, find the market and bet you want on http://www.oddschecker.com, and take the best odds available to you. Post your bet, the number of points you are betting, and name your potential return (use http://www.betcalc.com/accacalc.php for a "bet return" calculator). The minimum bet is 50p. There is no maximum bet. Maximum bet trebles, for simplicity's sake. For exactly the same reason, bets cannot be placed in-play (it's hard to check odds if people are posting in-play bets). It's a tipping competition, so give people a chance to remortgage their house and run to their local Betfred! Backing only. No laying. The competition will run until the final whistle of the Scottish Cup Final. If you lose all of your dough, you are out. Standard bookie rules apply to all bets (i.e. if you couldn't put it on in your local Betfred, you won't be able to put it on here). If doubt over a bet exists, where possible I will refer to the rules of the bookie is question. The holder of the most points at the end of the competition will be the winner. There will be a prize for the winner. Posturing (of the "free munny" / "you're a mug punter" variety) is strictly encouraged.
