What's your favourite "all the way through" album

You know, the one that doesn't have a duff track on it?

Mine

Beautiful Freak - Eels

13 - Teenage Fanclub

OK Computer (I actually like Karma Police)

The Bends

The The - Infected

B.A.D. - This is B.A.D.

The Cult - Love

Moby - Play

R.E.M. - Green

Great albums shouldn't have any duff tracks. Before CD became the format of choice an album would usually have 8 tracks, rarely more than ten and would usually be between 35 and 45 minutes long. Now bands often feel that they need to put twice as many tracks on and albums need to be 60-80 minutes long, just because they can be. For me the quality has suffered.

Three spring to mind immediately for me (although I'm sure, given time, I could come up with loads!) - they would be:

Parallel Lines - Blondie

American Idiot - Green Day

The Black Parade - My Chemical Romance

Hey, I don't care - when it comes to music, I like what I like and don't give a **** what anyone else thinks! My music collection is nothing if not eclectic and whatever anyone says, The Black Parade is one of my favourite albums, so there!

Nice to see Bat out of Hell already in the list. And Hello from the Quo? I must dig that one out for old times' sakes.

My initial thoughts on seeing the thread are:

Who's Next

6a00c2251dd12cf21900c2251e1774604a-500pi

(or Quadrophenia all the way through which deserves special mention as a double album without a turkey on it)

Love over Gold (I know, I know...)

and Born to Run

The Prodigy - Fat of the Land

G'n'R - Appetite for Destruction

Billy Talent - Billy Talent

Three good choices there - and can't believe I forgot about Bat Out Of Hell as well!

Cammit Janet.

Why hate them?

And tbh "emo" is such a laughable stereotype. Why isn't rRnB emo? Pop emo?

What exactly is "emo"?

What "category" do you fit into then...?;)

Listened to the new radiohead album yesterday.... reckon they've done it again.

Quality stuff.

What about 40-something mothers-of-two who don't straighten their hair (mainly because it's naturally poker-straight anyway!) or cut themselves? :whistling:

Don't put everyone into stereotypes and never ASSUME anything - it only makes an ass out of u and me!
