Alan Brazil on Talksport this morning

Sorry, but are you seriously trying to relate comments on this stupid forum with Hitler?

Yes.."the price of freedom is eternal vigilance".

Are you saying that facists of the 1980s had nothing in common with their counterparts in the twenties? They were conspicuously less successful but might that not be because we were able to recall what had happened before?

"Those who ignore history are fated to relive it."

KB hasn't always been a stupid forum and I live in (admittedly diminishing) hope that it can return to its more elevated past.

I'm ending myself here. Talk about getting things out of proportion.....:mystic::mystic:

Incidentally, are "facists" people who hate faces?

And maybe it will if people remember to try and keep things in perspective.

They were discussing the Scottish fixtures this morning and he came out with something along the line of Hearts and Rangers are as one, whenever Rangers score the Hearts fans cheer for them...!!

Typical Tim!! I actually quite like him, but he can be a bit naive at times.

From what I can gather the Huns aren't happy about what he said either...!!!

Now why am I not surprised that you know how to spell that word?

I think however that "facists" would like faces rather than hate them just as fascists have a fondness for fasces not an antipathy towards them. "When in Rome...".

There are many perspectives, JT.

A key characteristic of a "proper Jambo" is that they wouldn't want ra sellik to get a result against Rangers FC.

What absolute bollocks.

All things being equal, at the start of every season, I'd hope Hearts finish top, If that wasn't to be, I'd hope anyone but Hibs would finish top.

Considering we have entered every season in twenty odd years being pretty much guaranteed it'll end up a two horse race, I'd prefer Rangers win the league before Sellic, therefore, unless an advantage is to be gained by Hearts from a Sellic victory, I'd rather Rangers won every single old firm game.

My names's Johnny and I'm a Bigot.

You're not a bigot (necessarily). It really depends what the reasons are for your preference.

Did you actualy hear this? because my cousin was on the phone from down south and he brought it up but in his version it was Brazil's co-pilot Ronnie Eranni(sp) who mentioned our link with the cousins of william **** which Brazil dismised.

I phoned him back and he is adamant it was Ronnie, if this is the case some folk on here need to send Brazil an apology......on second thoughts don't bother cause he's a grade A tw8t

Not really, I checked it out in a dictionary and in an encyclopedia, not that many versions of perspective at all.

What there is, is what you want to see and believe compared to reality, but I don't think that is referred to as "perspective".

I've been spat on twice on recent visits to Parkhead. For many seasons now, I've seen imaginary rifles pointed at Hearts fans. As an 8 year old I ended up in the first aid room because the stewards at Parkhead failed to do their jobs. At Tynecastle when Hibs were in the first division I witnessed Hibs Scarves in the Celtic end, I've heard endless H-I-B-E-R-N-I-A-N chants from their support, Frank McGarvey, 1986, etc etc.

I hope they die.

You should not use these terrible experiences as your compass for deciding which of the ugly sisters you hate most. For every one of the incidents you enountered at Celtic games, there is an equal experience encountered by an Hearts fan at a Rangers game.

No there isn't.

I suspect you would find very few Hearts fans who go regularly that would claim that they suffered more abuse from Rangers than Celtic.

I know the argument will be "That's because we're seen as their wee cousins" etc etc but it happens to be true.

To be perfectly honest, I don't give a feck about anyone else (Family excluded), Hearts fan or not.

I gave MY reasons for hating them more, and I stick by it.

King of the North

Alan Brazil is a clown and his remarks are a disgrace.

How sad that this gimps remarks are given credence by the postings of some 'Hearts fans' on this very thread.

If you are a decent, moral, intelligent human being, then the huns are forever your enemy.

This ranks amongst the most ridiculous posts ever on JKB.

Either base your argument on facts, or don't argue at all.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Maybe a roar's a bit over the top, but certainly a cheer. And not from everybody obviously.

Nearly collapsed myself, but I was there.

So, if Hearts were in a position whereby we need Rangers to lose a match to qualify for Europe and they were playing Celtic, you'd still cheer Rangers on just because it's Celtic then yes? You really should stop coming on here pretending to be a Jambo and spouting your bile! For the record, Celtic and Rangers are hated with equal venom amongst most Hearts fans except the ones that can't move on from the 70's & 80's like yourself. Why don't you just come on and admit your actually a bluenose disguised as a Jambo? We all know what you really are and the songs you'd like to hear...........come on then.....1 - 2- 3 - Follow follow we will follow Ran........

Saying that Celtic are at least as bad! Hate them both equally!

Ps, therapist= total embarassment to all hearts fans

I would have loved to have seen someone cheer in the pub on Saturday. They would have been lucky to leave with all limbs intact. Should have invited Mr Brazil along actually, he would have loved it.

On another note, did anyone get a reply?

No, but maybe he needs a few more, to settle the shakes, before attempting to use a keyboard.

I think we are forgetting that it Alan Brazil 's job to court publicity for his wee radio station and he is not as naive to actually believe his own nonsense.

He has done a good job though not as good a job as fellow Hearts fans have of again exposing and ridiculing the tiny element of intolerant bigots that shame our club at every opportunity.

I salute you all.

I hope someone has explained to him that when it comes to courting controversy, this works very well in increasing audiences apart from when you're dealing with very annoyed and offended football fans who simply tend to switch off and never return.

Know your target audience, Brazil.

Thanks for letting me know one of the key characteristics of a "proper Jambo". Could you perhaps also tell me how to be a 'true football fan' and avoid becoming a 'fully paid up member of the PC brigade'.

Thanks for your valuable input. It's much appreciated. Without you, I wouldn't know how to behave as a Jambo...

Every individual will have their own reasons for either hating Celtic more, Rangers more, both equally, or just not giving a toss. However, bearing that in mind, and that this is only a personal view based on instinct and perception rather than anything scientific, I do think that when push comes to shove, the majority of Jambos prefer Rangers. Not an overwhelming majority, and not by the margin that might have applied, say, 20 years ago - but a majority nonetheless.

Why? Firstly, if religion has anything to do with it at all, it probably applies to only a mere fraction of our support, as opposed to huge swathes of Old Firm supporters. However, if you look throughout the world, you invariably find that the west of a city is more affluent than the east: purely and simply, because of wind direction. This rule doesn't apply in every single case, but certainly in most.

And while plenty of wealthier people are left wing politically, and plenty of poorer people right wing, on the whole, affluent people tend to be more conservative in their outlook; and poorer people, more socialist. Given all this, it stands to reason that Jambos, on the whole, are slightly more affluent than Hibees, and slightly more conservative: making them in turn more likely to sympathise with Rangers than Celtic, whose supports reflect a considerably starker dichotomy (though again, not to the extent that they once did).

All of which feeds into a self-fulfilling prophecy: Celtic fans regard us as diet Huns, so hate us, and give us a much harder time at Parkhead than Rangers fans, who view us as their harmless little brother, do at Ibrox. As a result, given our views are formed by experience, it's far more likely that Hearts fans will feel hostile towards Celtic than Rangers. I do think this is gradually changing, and that younger Jambos increasingly perceive Rangers with greater disdain, mainly because of the changing political times we're living in. So it could well be that, 20 or 30 years from now, there's no difference at all in how they're viewed, or even that Rangers are more hated than Celtic. But for now, the reverse remains true.

As I said at the start, this is only my perception, and everyone will have their own individual stance on this: and in any case, much of the furore of this debate has been caused by Therapist just being on the windup again. Because he knows, and we all know, that what he said about no proper Jambo wanting Celtic to win an Old Firm derby is pure, unadulterated tosh.

Usually I want whichever Old Firm team is doing the worst at that present time to continue getting worse - at various points this has been both Rangers & Celtic at different times.

I have no preference - I dislike them equally although I've had more bother of Rangers fans probably cos our results against them at tynie and a few times at Ibrox were generally better than we achieved against Celtic - the Huns are bad losers.
