Oh and anyone who boos Craig Levein is not a Jambo.

Nonsense. It just makes them a bit silly.

Why? Put himself and his own needs before the club. I personally wouldn’t boo him but for a guy to take the club where he did when he knows fine well he should have walked off his own accord was just wrong. Loved the club that much he couldn’t put his ego aside. And left the club the first time around to head off to Leicester - understandable but not a great act of loyalty all the same, bearing in mind they were a shocking outfit at the time. Great player for us or not there are reasons a fan would want to boo him. Doesn’t mean they’re not Jambos.

Do you know many people who would quit there job because they’re not doing well, thus forfeiting tens of thousands of pounds? I don’t. Folk need to remember the guys at our level aren’t premier league millionaires. They’re normal people with families and bills to pay. The decision should’ve taken out of his hands and made a lot sooner than it was. The board was hesitant and showed weak leadership.

Agree mate. I was only arguing the claim that anyone who boos him isn’t a Jambo. Anyone who has bad or negative feelings towards him have every reason to.

3-0 hearts.

Shankland brace and Oda

great chance to pull further away from the pack below.  Aberdeen play Rangers and the vermin away to Dundee.  I’d expect st Mirren to tuck Livingston away though.

I think it will be a tough game.

Levein will be looking for resilience from his players, and I don't expect a cricket score. An early goal to force them out would be good. Same team as against Motherwell.

The Leicester and Scotland jobs probably made him a millionaire. And he was on a very good salary at Dundee United and Hearts.

You do know just because someone’s accumulative earnings over their career might add to over a million pounds, doesn’t make them a millionaire? If someone’s been on £50k per year for the last 20 years, are they a millionaire?

Chuck in 40-45% tax for these guys.

The point I was making is nobody sacks themself in that situation. No matter how big a Jambo you are.

He got a £700k pay off from Scotland, not to mention the salary he had already earned. Add that to his Leicester salary and pay off and I don't think he'll be short of a bob or two. He was also on good money at Hearts and does a lot of media work.

He is no different to most players in that he looks after himself before any football club.

He may call himself  a Hearts fan but when you look at the grief he caused during his last spell at the club then anyone who wants to boo him is just as entitled as they are to have booed Pressley or Webster etc.

I have been a Hearts fan all my life and I am not in the habit of booing anyone and I wont boo CL but to make the claim you do is utter nonsense.

Agree totally. Levein will be desperate to get one over on us despite what some think about his loyalty to Hearts.

Bit of a shame in a way that there's the break now.  Bit of momentum would have been nice.

But that said, it's 2 weeks for the guys coming back from injury, so all good.

Hard to predict team or anything because of that, but you'd think go with same, maybe bring in one of the faster guys for Boyce, game being at home (Oda, Vargas or Tagawa).  Maybe Toby at RWB, but I dont mind Forrest being there and basically playing more as a winger than a WB.

Yeah, its a bit of a shame, might have been nice to build up some form - but as you say, good chance to try and get a few of the injured guys fit again - also gives Naismith more time to work with the players - really try and get them more coached and familiar with what he wants.

Seems like there is a bit of a disconnect where he wants attacking forward passes and they end up going side to side instead.

Do think that's improving though.  Where I think fans (audibly) miscontstrue "backwards" is when in our 343 type formation, we come back inside, and yes back to CH but very much with the intention of moving the ball out to the other side.  I noticed on Saturday WAY more missing players out with passes.  So the central CH was hitting the WBs or the LCB going to the LCB.  Misisng that link out of the chain and speeding up getting the ball wide/forward.

Also noting Kye playing more and more penetrative balls either down channels or switching to right wing.  Great to see.

So may be baby steps, but I'm seeing more and more of us doing the right things on the ball.  I wonder if our midfield could show a bit better for the ball at times.  But I'm not sure the plan is massively to play through them, so perhaps they're told just to hold ground and occupy opposition when the CHs have the ball?  Not sure.

As you say, nice to have 2 weeks training to keep working on it all.

One thing I think will be great and shouldn't be undervalued is that when Gordon (already), Halkett and McKay join in with full training, just how much the standard and demand goes up day in day out, session by session.  These boys will either demand more every minute, and/or will simply up the level of things.  Great to have them on the park of course, but also great just to have them back in training with the rest of the lads.

Good to go in to an international break on back of a win (2 league wins in a row actually) as it gives us all a break from all the recent negativity.  Justified or not it's very draining.  Looking forward to this game and hoping we can put on a good show but ultimately grab the 3 points before heading in to a tough looking December.

Yep and in reality it’s around half that. Of course his money troubles will be different to the random punters but nobody knows an individuals circumstances. I don’t know any manager that has walked away from a job willingly unless he had another lined up. He should’ve had a knock on his door after the 1-2 cup final and a deal struck to step aside.

Anyway 3-0 Hearts and 3rd place awaits.

I want to win this game a bit more than I would normally want to beat St Johnstone. And yes that is because of Craig Levein.

I personally wouldn't boo the man but I wouldn't stand and applaud him or shake his hand either.

Win this and its 3 league wins on the bounce. Important in this league to string a few decent wins together as it propels you up the table. I'm fairly confident we will turn them over, we look an ever improving side at the minute and may have some injured players back on the bench for this one. McKay and Halkett can't be too far away from being the squad now.

Unless you are Steven Naismith I doubt you would get the chance to.

Think we are too good for them and they are not as defensively sound as others, bit of pace, return of Oda might worry them. Day we might score some goals, despite their better efforts to sit back. A day to stack the team with our matchwinners

I know online ticketing not always the most accurate but a good take up already and even in the roseburn top sections about gone with groups of seats in the front rows

I can't boo CL. He's one of the best centre half's to ever play for us. Should have got more international caps than he did. His stubbornness to stand down in his 2nd spell let him down but I could never hate him.

I wouldn’t say he’ll come with any grudge or extra determination to beat us. Can’t see why he would feel that way. Hearts have treated him very well throughout his career, looked after him through 2 bad injuries and were very generous with the time given to him in management roles.

He’ll want to win of course, as you would expect. I’d also expect him to be warmly welcomed at the club. If you have an issue with Craig Levein all you had to do was go to the gantry at the back of the Wheatfield for a good few games this season. He’s happy enough to chat to folk and freely accepts he couldn’t get out of the rut but he got us into and time was up, but watch out for his hook if you fancy yourself a bit.

3-0 Hearts . Shankland Hat trick , straight off the back of his 2 goals in 2 games for Scotland

Massive week for Shankland internationally. He can book his place with a goal or two or at least a performance or two. I think he’ll get minutes given that we’ve already qualified and winning the group looks a long shot. Last chance under this regime though I feel.

Centimetres away from scoring in his last ( I think ) appearance coming on as a sub off the bench . He is more than good enough , he just needs to get his chance and take it

If we play well like we have the last 3 league games then I think we should win this one. An early goal would help massively as no doubt they will look to frustrate us. Score early and they will need to come out which will hopefully play into our hands and leave spaces. As much as they have had a bounce, they are still not a great side and we should be able to take care of them at Tynecastle.

Nicky Clark out for them, no excuses not to win this one. Yes Levein will have them organised but there personnel is very poor. Must win again for Naismith and I think we will.

Got to fancy us for this one. 3 league wins on the bounce whilst St Mirren are struggling would be big.

Don't have any hate toward Levein ,he did what he thought was best (nothing he did was out of malice )but failed it was those above him who should have ended it sooner .

Anyway thats in the past ,more important the game .

He will have them up for it , so either St johnstone will give us a game or get sombody sent off .

2 or 3 nil to us but tight until late on .
