MonkeyHeidHater
Sorry to burst your bubble, but don't they say ?35 on the left hand side? The bit that looks like ?14...isn't that E14 as in the section of the ground? Much as I'd like them to be humiliated, I think this isn't one way of doing it...never mind, I'm sure there's plenty more jfc - ?35 a ticket to see that muck??!! (not barca!) hate_hibs
Yup, us Hibbies have been showing an abject lack of interest in this fixture. Here are my suggested reasons : 1. We have beaten them once before and therefore the novelty factor has gone. 2. Many of us went to see Hearts play them last year - along with the 30,000other 'nuetrals' around the country. 3. We think the atmosphere there is terrible, based on the lack of noise produced by Hearts fans during previous defeats there. 4. We see Murrayfield as a second home for Hearts and therefore don't fancy patronising it. 5. We are starting to enjoy and indeed encourage the 'wee team' tag as it begins, more and more, to look amusingly ironic. Keeping the crowd down for the Barca game will help to retain this tag. 6. We see no point in attempting to promote ourselves on the European stage, as Vlad has made it clear that Hearts will bring the Champions League Trophy back to Edinburgh. How could we possibly compete by winning a silly friendly! 7. The tram scheme and resulting congestion will prevent us from making it across the city in our tens of thousands. Spectator levels will be limited to the 11,000 Hibs fans living within a 0.1mile radius of the ground. 8. The bumpy pitch will be more suited to Barcelonas industrial style of football and will hamper our free flowing passing game. 9. We have spent all our money on heroin. 10. No Ronaldinho! Old Dung Heap
Get a grip. Even thinking about lining the hobos pockets is a despicable act. That's wrong, whether there's one man and his dog there or 67,000!?!? it doesn't make a bit of difference to Hibs pockets. They get a small match fee from Platinum One the organisers - same happened last year. Platinum One (Gavin Hastings' company) take the profit, a la last year, 58000 attendance, or the risk, 11,000 attedance. Either way they (platinum one) they shell out Barcas match fee. Still wouldn't make me go like...
foghorn5
First post be kind Just about burst a gut at the eBay link for tickets to Murrayfield so had to see for myself, asking for ?70 for two tickets. So checked out SRU site for prices and its ?70 for two tickets and I thought eBay was an auction site? but also found this snippet in the Q and A section "Q: I want to bring along my 1 year old child? A: No problem however we would remind you that this a large football match with a large crowd, music, etc which may not be suitable for a child so young." So it becomes clear that all the SRU problems with money and under achieving teams has been the same fantasists from fester road.

Old Dung Heap
Garbage. You're honestly trying to say that Hearts (58k) wouldn't make more out of the game than Hibs (11k) and Platinum one would take the hit? You lot get better by the day. Its a fair kop guv'nor. Yes Hearts will have made more money, but the difference is surprisingly small. In both cases, the Edinburgh team has received a fixed guaranteed match fee from Platium One- around ?100 grand. Obviously Barca get a much bigger fee. Thereafter selling agents (HMFC, Hibs, SRU) receive around 5% of the cost of tickets sold from Platiunum One. I've no idea who sold what this year this year and last, but say the club sells two-thirds of the tickets and the SRU the remainder, at say an ave ?25 a skull, then that works out at around 40000 tickets sold by hearts = ?50grand income vs a paltry ?12 grand for Hibs (assuming final attendance is 15000). I think hearts talked about making around ?200 grand last year from the game - so that where the bulk of it comes from (?100 grand fee & ?50 grand ticket commission & something else). Hibs are on track for just over half of that. If it was anyone's want you could technically go without lining Hibs pockets by buying from the SRU instead, but that's a bizarre IF. Platiunum One probably made a cool ?250k - ?500k last year depending on what is Barca's match fee. On the face of it with a 15000 crowd they'd be looking at a loss this year, but in reality probably have it underwritten for a fee.
