Mikey1874
Not confirmed by West Ham but confirmed by Austria. It is suggested it's about making his club in Austria a feeder club. Loaned back to current club. Edited September 1, 2023 by Mikey1874
i8hibsh
Always got the feeling he was better than the dross we churn out of Riccarton but in no way shape or form did he do anything in a Hearts jersey to give the slightest **** about him no longer being at Hearts. briever
Is it a dodgy way of pay a club to be a feeder? Makes zero sense.

A full analysis of all the 'feeder' club arrangements in the world would be interesting. One person online has said this, also saying Irving will never play for West Ham. It could be a way around FIFA / UEFA rules.

Footballfirst
I understand that three Serie A clubs and one Bundesliga had inquired about him in addition to West Ham. The loan deal was a demand of Klagenfurt because they had no time to bring in a replacement on the last day of the window.

rudi must stay
Irving had an eye for a pass. Way too good for the German 2nd Division could see that, not going to do much in the EPL though. I'd not surprised if he's back in the SPL in a few years

Alan_R
Not really buying the dodgy link up line. To me it's probably a money-ball signing. I bet you Andy's stats look great in the Austrian league. He seems to score and assist alot. Probably ends up high on various lists for the number crunchers. Could it be as simple as it's an absolute punt and 1million just isn't that much of a gamble for a club like west ham ?

The Merse
Irving was very underrated. Exactky what we’re missing tbh, could take it in tight positions, composed and could play a telling pass too. Pleased he’s made it but unfortunately a bad call for us not to go all out to keep. Yep, although we don't know the circumstances that made him refuse each contract offer. Its possible he just had his mind set on going to a country where the standard of football coaching & management was higher then here. You could argue that we do know, because that is exactly what he said happened. Said he had his heart set on playing abroad. It's weird, when he was struggling to get a game in the third tier of German football, there wasn't the same long line of posters happy to proclaim that it was obvious he is a great footballer and would be successful at a higher level than Hearts.
