A great day all round for the women and girls. Great to see a club same day treble over Celtic at various levels!

To add to the feel good factor, the Scotland youth squads were selected through the week there - I'm pretty sure it was 8 and 5 HMFC girls selected for the U16 and U17 squads respectively. A huge validation of what our club are doing at youth level.

As well as winning at U14 and U18, Hearts probably have the strongest squad at U16 too, as evidenced by the number of players in the Scotland squad. However they missed out after a surprising defeat during the group stage, leaving Rangers to beat Celtic in today's final.  I'm sure Hearts U16s beat Rangers comfortably the last time they met.

A number of the girls from last year’s U16 squad that dominated across competitions are now with the U18s. Currently Celtic and Rangers probably have stronger squads at U16 level but overall the girls academy seems to be the strongest in the country.

Yes I know a couple of the 16s group (and a couple of ex players that have moved on). All fantastic footballers.

Disappointing we didn't score any goals in the Second Half against Dundee United.

Some quality goals.  The future looks bright if these girls progress to the first team squad.

Hearts on top first half without creating anything dangerous aside from hitting bar from long range.

But top scorer Katie Lockwood on as sub for second half.

King prawn

is that camera being operated by a human or is it one of the automated ball tracking ones? It's unwatchable either way.

1-0 Hearts. Brilliant Ciara Grant free kick headed in by Lizzie Waldie.

Full time.

Hearts in the semi finals. Rangers beat Hibs 6-2 and Spartans beat Livingston 5-0. Celtic play Montrose.

Not best camera work but semi final here we come. Only saw second half but Partick didn't have one shot at goal while conditions looked terrible.

Deserved win.

Made hard work of that but got there in the end. Well done Hearts.

Looking forward to getting Montrose in the semi :ninja:

Nice to see the women’s team living up to expectations. This should be the bare minimum going forward

The draw is after Morton v Hearts tomorrow.

Been doing the men's and women's draws together.

Celtic gubbed Montrose 6-0.

The semi finalists are Heart of Midlothian, Spartans, Celtic and Sevco.

Great to see them reach the semi final.

On a different note, with the league having reached the split, it seems a good time to access progress (or not) since last year. My sense is there is a bit of a perception that the team has regressed. Probably because the gap between us and Hibs/Patrick is much smaller than last year, when we went into the split with an 8 point cushion.

But the stats actually tell a different story...

- We are 2 points better off than last season. (42 vs 40)

- We have scored far more goals. (58 vs 33)

- We have conceded a few more (22 vs 19), but the overall result is a goal difference of +36 rather than +14.

Throw in getting further in the cup (albeit we drew Celtic at the QF stage last year) and there is a good argument for saying we have improved on last term.

Think I heard draw is at half time in the Hearts game bizarrely with the men’s draw after the game

Well done to our ladies.

Partick have been playing very well, and always look so organised.

Great result away from home.
