Sounds like there's a big home one for the 150th anniversary - will probs end up being Bolton or something though.

Wouldn't mind a Hearts trip down south, usually good day out.

Aston Villa were formed in 1874. They’d be my guess.

Sadly, big premiership clubs tend to not even get out of bed to even piss near Scottish teams now.  Even if they do it is their youth team and reserves.

Bunch of *****.

Good shout that.

I despise the city of Birmingham so I’m hoping it’s up here.

Would any game like that not be more likely to be played next year?

Ideally I'd like to see Hearts vs. Aston Villa for the "1874 Cup" and, if they fancied it, Morton vs. Hearts for their 150th.

As suggested by @Uncle Buck, probably best kept for next summer.

That was my thought too. The update from last week did make it seem like it might be this year, but would make far more sense for it to happen in 2024.

Apologies, I meant @graygo.

They could play 11 of us from kickback. Some serious ball knowledge on this group must be good players 😂😂 I'll do water boy

Same.

A few years ago I was in the directors suite quite a few times for training when I was in my old job. Villa Park is nice but Birmingham in general is an absolute dive.

The way I read the blurb the friendly to mark the 150th anniversary will be next summer. My suggestion would be Bayern if possible to mark arguably our greatest (one off) European result.

Doesn’t mean we can’t get a decent friendly this season. - although I’ve got to admit they bore the arse off me.

Doctor FinnBarr

Can we revive the Suso testimonial rumour that was on the go a year or 2 back, to play CD Tenerife in Santa Cruz?

I travel with the Armada Sur supporters club to watch them whilst on holiday and many English members were raging that it was going to be Hearts and not Real or Barca. Didn't like me telling them that Suso had maybe requested Hearts.

Rumour after the fans day was cancelled was that it clashed with a friendly against Wolfsburg.

Tbf, I can't imagine Hearts planning a friendly to mark its 150th anniversary that's played in England.

Well Villa are doing the same, that was the point of us playing them. Would need to be played somewhere.

Yeah but it's not an attractive home fixture for Villa.

Hopefully not, as we will ideally be facing them in league duty (assuming they beat Ross county and hope they do!)

Can we draft in Lee Johnson for that. His jab to the stomach is said to be good 😉

I suppose he'd get on the plane for a childs fare, so wouldn't be too much hassle

Best avoid Blackpool and the Pepsi Max on the way home though.

A North of England Saturday game would be good.

Hopefully a couple at home also. Maybe a family day like crawley last season, especially as the family event is cancelled

Tbf that was me on that thread purely speculating. Although I have been told we've been looking at playing them in the summer so fingers crossed.

That will be summer 2024, and educated guess would be Tottenham who we played in our centenary match in 1974

If I told 10 year old me that one day I'd be standing on the half way line at Tynecastle while Scott Crabbe complimented our kits I wouldn't have believed a word !

A fantastic day all round, hopefully the first and last time I play CB !

The highlight was undoubtedly Lockie looking for his "wee pal"

The Treasurer

Depending on where we are going for preseason training there is usually bounce games organised with teams who are in the same location.

Remember the last one ended in a punch up
