Plenty of ministers sacked then reappointed are being pressured to not accept their 25% annual salary redundancy pay for being sacked then reappointed.

Suella is entitled to £17,000 in redundancy pay for the 6 days she was sacked before being given the same feckin job again

Raab too
And Barclay

Sack yer chum, give them a slightly different job, free money all round.

Note to self too. Don’t critique any govt unless I have an alternative cabinet to suggest.
I’ll need to remember never to criticise Robbie or Hearts in future too unless I can suggest a brand new management team and players.

So, if you simply change Leader and reshuffle the Cabinet every few weeks, apparently that means you never have to be accountable for anything ever again.

You just say "oh, that was the previous government, nothing to do with us"

GENIUS

It wouldnt be hard to rattle him at pmqs if you were allowed to ask him one simple question that's is why did you right off £17b

Of course he would never allow that to be one of the questions he takes though.

Jake Berry a sacked Minister has gone on GB News tonight, talking about Braverman outlining more details of how serious it was.

Meanwhile more evidence from asylum claims say the boat people are nearly all genuine asylum seekers. Rwanda which involves sending them without a proper assessment is illegal and unlikely to happen.

Challenges ahead for the new Home Secretary.

Nothing more genuine that a emptied minister running to the media with things he was happy to keep quiet while employed. 😂

Cummings will be proud.

Nothing more genuine than  someone being sacked for breaking the ministerial code and then getting re-hired one week later.

So you've got no time for the entire Conservative and Unionist Party then?

Cleverly, Zahawi, Mogg jumping sides last week, the lot of them going through the Lobby to support fracking despite it not being a manifesto policy.

They're a party of duplicitous snakey bassas. All about protecting their ministerial salary, protecting the party. They couldn't give a shiny shite about the country or her citizens.

Pound is appreciating, markets are stable, gilt yields are trending back to the pre **** up levels, shell made a fortune last quarter aside from the difficulties in explaining Suella's reappointment and a little rain today seems like a better day. Best spill my coffee all over myself so I can fit with the mood of the thread!

OMG that article is so bang on the money and makes for depressing reading. Large swathes of the U.K. are pinning their hopes on “Levelling up” coming to their rescue but whilst welcome (and probs mostly a mirage for many), it ain’t gonna touch the sides. Particularly damning we’re these paras………

Thus, the U.K., the first nation to industrialize, was also the first to deindustrialize. Britain gave rise to the productivity revolution that changed the world, and now it has some of the worst productivity statistics of any major economy. What was once the world’s most powerful globalized empire has now voted to explicitly reduce global access to trade and talent. Since Brexit, immigration, exports, and foreign investment have all declined, likely reducing the size of the U.K.’s economy by several percentage points in the long run.

Or, as the economic analyst Matt Klein puts it, “Take out Greater London—the prosperity of which depends to an uncomfortable degree on a willingness to provide services to oligarchs from the Middle East and the former Soviet Union—and the UK is one of the poorest countries in Western Europe.”

Utter tripe from Trevor Noah here.

What an ill informed goon.

Does it exist? Sure, but it's not the main narrative going on. We've just had a female PM and now one of Asian descent...must be terribly opposed to the things he's suggesting right enough.

Maybe he should focus on the country he's preaching from. No female leader, and a current leader calling the PM Rashid Sanook.

Don't tar the UK with the brain dead backwardness of the States!

That's nothing. Up in Scotland, we are still blaming Thatcher.

It's how politics works apparently, take no responsibility for anything bad whist claiming credit for anything good.

Today's politicians resemble contestants on The Apprentice instead of acting like statesmen/stateswoman.

It wont take much for this latest new era,  fresh start,  new government to disintegrate.  Blabbermooth is destined for the sack again,  which will infuriate the right wing,  ultra Brexiteer maniac wing.  Penny Mordaunt is seemingly annoyed at not being given one of the great offices of state,  meaning stored up tension with the semi-normal 'one nationists'.  This cabinet has been cobbled together to attempt to satisfy the various obsessions of factions who should be in different parties.  It'll fold up on itself soon enough.

Exactly 13 years but was there not a leaked document that had Hunt going to say inflation would be down to 1% by end of next year 🤣

Braverman was a particularly ridiculous appointment. She is bound to unravel at some point. Just asking for trouble. Sunak must not have been confident he had the numbers when he came to the suggested arrangement he did with her. Perhaps a case of "keep your enemies closer".

Don’t see Penny having the numbers to cause to much bother. Regarding the rest I think it will come down to performance and public opinion. If there is positivity he is turning things around and the pool numbers start to change I think most of the troublemakers will be kept quiet.

That is exactly the Tory manifesto..  Or is there a new water down one or even not one at all.

No mandate and direction, vision or credibility.

We are witnessing a self implode of historical proportions, i mean there is a very big possibility that the Tory party will never recover in the ballot boxes of a big % of UK voters.

To be fair most politicians are self serving pricks, the current lot are exceptional though.

A lot of voters blow whichever way the wind is going, they will recover alright. Definitely heading for a labour government though.

To be fair a lot of voters just dont pay enough attention. But from Boris to Trust they paid enough attention to the utter chaos they were responsible for. That is in itself is an indicator that most voters could very well have had enough of the Tories for a long time, if so they the Tory party could find it hard getting popular again.

You were loudly cheerleading the newly elected government after the GE though, and it's exactly the same lot of exceptional, self-serving pricks 🤷‍♂️

It's not like they were stealth pricks until recently.
