Mikey1874 Posted March 9 Posted March 9 5 hours ago, Malinga the Swinga said: The non decision of referee to penalise deliberate foul play, let's call it what it was which is thuggery, was disgraceful. The two Irish guys knew exactly what they were doing and targeted Duponts leg with intent to injure. The ref and TMO official let the sport of rugby down by refusing to make a decision, simply because it was Ireland players in Ireland going for a grand slam. An injury like that was coming as Ireland slipping from where they were and have countered that by late hits and going over the line in what is allowed. Ref at Scotland game seemed to allow coming in from side, from both teams, and struggled to keep up with what was happening but got away with it as neither team went overboard on physicality. Only gripe would be when Welsh guy stuck hand in VDM's face. Could easily have been red for contact to eyes of VDM but should have been minimum of yellow. Quote
Victorian Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Bookies have England vs Italy as a 23 point game. Sounds about right. Italy need a great start and a HT lead to stand any chance at all. Hopefully they'll be motivated by Wales somehow grabbing 2 bonus points. Quote

Victorian Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Another strange match that went dull for a long time and you realise there were 10 tries. Italy had fleeting moments but generally poor again. Quote
PortyJambo Posted March 9 Posted March 9 So...if Scotland come out with their best 80 minute performance in years and somehow beat France in Paris...they'll likely hand the 6N title to England. That's assuming England beat Wales, which is likely, but you never know as the Taffs do like to spoil England's parties. Of course, the more likely outcome is France get a bonus point win over Scotland and they'll then be champions. Even a non bonus point win for France will likely be enough as they hold a massive points differential advantage over England. Quote
Victorian Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Hopefully a 3 try win for England, then an epic try bonus point draw for France and England spewing. Quote
Malinga the Swinga Posted Thursday at 11:04 Author Posted Thursday at 11:04 Dempsey and Gray out of team for French game. Brown and Fagerson in from start. Other than that it's same team starting as v Wales. Hope for the best, fear the worst Quote

Heard that on ITV during Cheltenham. They are covering England home and away for next 4 years and doing 10 of the games which means BBC doing 5 (by my calculations). Better than going behind paywall though. Quote

Wales, who Scotland beat last week, stunned England meaning France finished top of table. Thanks to last gasp drop goal, Scotland grabbed bonus point and didn't finish bottom. Ireland did that Quote

That is an encouraging result from the U20's, even if a loss, maybe even more so than beating Wales at home last time. Going by previous seasons, you'd have expected them to suffer a heavy defeat, especially as France knew they could (and did) win the U20 Championship with a bonus point win. Quote
Victorian Posted Saturday at 13:47 Posted Saturday at 13:47 (edited) Ireland (-29.5) England (-19.5) France (-24.5) 21/1. Should stand a chance. Edited Saturday at 13:56 by Victorian Quote
PortyJambo Posted Saturday at 14:35 Posted Saturday at 14:35 Good start by Italy, 1 try already and should have had another one there. Not sure they'll keep it up, but we'll see. Quote
PortyJambo Posted Saturday at 14:40 Posted Saturday at 14:40 That's a double move on the Ireland "try" Quote
Victorian Posted Saturday at 15:04 Posted Saturday at 15:04 Lamaro has sold the pies big time. Italy playing first 9mins of 2nd half a man down. Ireland will pound them on the powerplay. Quote
JWL Posted Saturday at 15:13 Posted Saturday at 15:13 Italy not doing themselves any favours. Anyway, chilly day here in Paris, will stick up some pics from the stadium tonight.🍻🇫🇷🏉🏴🍻 Quote
PortyJambo Posted Saturday at 15:34 Posted Saturday at 15:34 That's going to be upgraded to a red for Italy. Probably game over with Ireland pulling away from here. Quote
PortyJambo Posted Saturday at 17:36 Posted Saturday at 17:36 Wales nailed on for the wooden spoon as they're collapsing against England. Unless England do a Scotland and switch off, this could be a absolute mauling. Quote
PortyJambo Posted Saturday at 17:37 Posted Saturday at 17:37 I think Wales will create a new record for losses in a row for Tier 1 nations (since professionalism) once they lose this Quote

The reality will hurt them which makes it even funnier. England are okay String pack with decent depth but nothing out of the ordinary. Main difference from last week was they didn't take off play makers and kept foot down. Quote
