Its a new thing encouraged across the board by Uefa to get the balls back in play asap EPL have the balls on cones I believe with the development players running about putting them on. Celtic done the same against Aberdeen and balls on the pitch all the time. The new rule is to ignore the ball that isnt being used. Beaton obvously didnt get the memo.
