mscjambo
Pace can beat a man. Very effective. Love his attitude too Embarrassing how excited their fans get at Demi Mitchell. You'd think they'd signed roberto Carlos or something. Didn't give the Blackpool reject a kick
Kiwidoug
He was given a very tough baptism replacing Smith against celtic and coped really well. I hope both the Aussies start at ibrox and do really well. High hopes for them both. If Beni is outstanding, we could be looking at a £300,000 bid from our so called cousins in the next windae. Finlay James
He had a good game on Tuesday and has had a good start to his career here. The pace of the game has caught him out a few times but that’s ok. We have signed a good player with the potential to be a very good one. Had Boyce gambled, he would have had an assist at Easter road to add to his other one in the cup game. I’m delighted we have signed him. Tasavallan
Atkinson over Smith for the RWB position. Smith over Moore for the right of back 3 position if Souttar still injured.

The guy looks very promising. A proper wing back which we'll need assuming we plan to continue with 3 at the back. Yes he made a few mistakes but offers far more of a threat going forward than any of the alternatives. Another very decent spot by the scouting team. This is spot on. Also, folk are expecting him to be excellent defensively when he is a wing back. Wingbacks play in an advanced position. If we want someone that is excellent defensively, Chuck Smith and Kingsley in as traditional full backs again. That is the whole point of 3 at the back. Knowing that because the wing backs will be pressing, they will at times lose the ball.. Even Robertson and Arnold are guilty of it at times! Which is why Liverpool struggled when VVD was out injured. We wanted someone that would push forward but who can also defend well. Atkinson defended well and he definitely had a go. If you have a drive up the pitch as much as him you'll lose the ball at times. But the same people decrying him here will be the same people decrying smith for always passing back.. So I'm sure Atkinson will understand in time that whatever he does, he'll never have every hearts fan happy. Has the majority of us happy though, so that's a win for him. AlimOzturk
Good player with lots of room to learn and develop. Him and Devlin both cut from the same cloth - passion, drive and a will to win win. Great signing who will be apart of a great period of success at Hearts. TexasAndy
Very good start from Atkinson. He has a great attitude to the game, much like Devlin. Imagine how good he's going to be when he bulks up slightly.

Tom Hardy’s Dug
The boy will be top drawer A few mistakes and defensive stuff to sort out though. I wouldn’t expect every single new signing to be spot on from match one though so top work so far NattyAkka

Yep - it’s not as if a Boyce didn’t know that that is a ball he plays either. A proper striker would have gambled on that pass IMO. Jesus even a LWB gambled to get there in the cup. Surprised at Boyce loitering around behind the defender to be honest.

He’s only in the door and adjusting to the pace of the game. I still say that when he eventually leaves Tynecastle it will be for millions, not thousands
boag1874
Thought he was great, didn't give them much joy down his flank & was always looking to get forward. Henroddy
My hod there are some muppets on this forum. Player A has a good game and it's "sign him on long term deal. He's a star and we can sell him for millions" Same player has a shocker and it's "get him punted. He's shite. Why has Robbie digned him? He was at fault for this and that". Eldar Hadzimehmedovic
He's got raw potential for sure. This is going to be a hard balance for us though - from a business perspective we probably should be signing guys in their early 20s like Atkinson, Devlin, and Beni, to hopefully sell on for money. But they are bound to lack discipline in positional sense, game management, decision making etc. All that stuff comes with experience and it's just not possible for us to have a whole team of guys in their prime who can do all of that at the same level as Celtic and Rangers. deejtee
After the initial over the top enthusiasm for our aussies the rebound over the top criticism is now in place. Neither of them are world beaters and never will be but early days for Atkinson. Some of the new players have allowed us to appreciate the likes of Haring, Halkett and Smith. Eldar Hadzimehmedovic
Atkinson isn't a problem imo. If there is a problem, it's that I think we find permanent signings better than Woodburn, Moore and Cochrane.

No Idle Talk
He looked out of his depth today. Which was disappointing to see. saxondale
Considerably better than Cochrane (who we should not be getting on a long term contract at all). He’s had to deal with multi million pound wingers in both Jota and Kent in the short amount of time he has been with us. Whilst Kent has ripped him a new one, he done alright against Jota and he has actually looked a threat going forward. He’ll get better, I’ve no doubt about that.
