Exactly, they've not been on the front line or anything. Their lives (albeit tragically entwined with friends, family etc back home) have been leading up to this for a good long while. If you want to talk about the mental impact, well they're 2 nil up so the ones with the mental issues (IMO) are the Scotland team and management set up.
